Documentation

Usage

This template is to be used in pages like List of Pokémon by evolutionary line. Each usage corresponds to a branched line consisting of a stage-one Pokémon which can evolve into two different stage-two Pokémon, with an optional stage-three Pokémon for each branch. It can be used without a header to add multiple related lines to the same family, as with regional forms. It needs to be invoked within a table which includes at least one instance of Template:lop/evo to specify the correct column widths.

Parameters

Ordinal parameters

  • 1: (Optional) Header, gets followed by the word "family". If this is left empty and no headeroverride is provided, the header row is removed.
  • 2: Type color for header row.
  • 3: National Pokédex number of first stage.
  • 4: Species name of first stage.
  • 5: Evolution method from first stage to second (branch 1).
  • 6: National Pokédex number of second stage (branch 1).
  • 7: Species name of second stage (branch 1).
  • 8: Evolution method from first stage to second (branch 2).
  • 9: National Pokédex number of second stage (branch 2).
  • 10: Species name of second stage (branch 2).
  • 11: (Optional) Evolution method from second stage to third (branch 1). Leave empty to remove this stage.
  • 12: (Optional) National Pokédex number of third stage (branch 1).
  • 13: (Optional) Species name of third stage (branch 1).
  • 14: (Optional) Evolution method from second stage to third (branch 2). Leave empty to remove this stage.
  • 15: (Optional) National Pokédex number of third stage (branch 2).
  • 16: (Optional) Species name of third stage (branch 2).

Named parameters (all optional):

  • notename: If provided, creates a ref after the header text in group "note" with the given name. Ignored if headeroverride is present.
  • headeroverride: Displayed instead of parameter 1.
  • form1: Suffix to be added to the name of the image file used for stage 1. Probably starts with a hyphen.
    • form2a, form2b, form2c, form3a, form3b, and form3c are similar.
  • formname1: Text added to the displayed species name for stage 1.
    • formname2a, formname2b, formname2c, formname3a, formname3b, and formname3c are similar.
  • method2c: Evolution method from the first stage to the second (branch 3). Leave blank to remove the third branch.
  • no2c and name2c provide the National Pokédex number and species name of the second stage (branch 3).
  • method3c: Evolution method from the second stage to the third (branch 3). Leave blank to remove this stage.
  • no3c and name3c provide the National Pokédex number and species name of the third stage in the the third branch.
  • anotherform: Include anotherform=true (or any other value except blank) to remove the bottom rounding so that another form can be added below it.

Examples

As mentioned, this template needs to be called in a table which includes Template:lop/evo, as it does not specify column widths itself. This is why the examples below include non-branching lines.

Single-line families

Include ordinal parameters as detailed above. One or both third-stage Pokémon as necessary, including to make unbalanced lines.

Three branches

A third branch can be applied; currently this applies to the Applin and "Hitmon" families (however, the Hitmons are represented using Template:Lop/evo-branch-multi). All parameters used for the third branch are named (and optional): method2c, number2c, and name2c for the second stage; and method3c, number2c, and name3c for the third (which are not necessary even if method2c is given).

Families with multiple branching lines, and notes

Currently, this only applies to the Slowpoke family. When creating multiple lines in the same family, for every line in the same family except the first, ensure that that parameter 1 is blank. For every line except the last, include anotherform=true in the template.

The notename parameter can be provided to append a ref tag to the heading; it will have a group value of "note" and name value as passed in. If using it, ensure a corresponding ref tag defining the text is included in the references.

The heading can be overridden entirely using the headeroverride parameter. If this is provided, the header will be displayed even if parameter 1 is blank.

  2. Rockruff with Own Tempo is not related to regular Rockruff by Evolution or by breeding.
