Mystery Dungeon Franchise Wiki is a wiki devoted to covering the entirety of the Mystery Dungeon franchise, created by Spike Chunsoft (née Chunsoft). The Pokémon Mystery Dungeon series is a crossover between the aformentioned series and Pokémon, with many of its core gameplay mechanics being repurposed from Shiren the Wanderer.

History

Mystery Dungeon Franchise Wiki was first a Wetpaint Shiren the Wanderer wiki and founded by Karmarogue. This wiki originally only covered Mystery Dungeon: Shiren the Wanderer DS, but was later expanded to cover the other three Nintendo DS Shiren the Wanderer titles. The wiki eventually went inactive due to lack of English releases and a decline in member activity. This wiki was shut down due being abandoned, and a wave of anonymous vandalizing in 2016. It was revived by Shiren1111, who was later helped by rhaining who began to clean up and re-organize the wiki together.

Due to numerous issues with Wikifoundry, such as the site being down for weeks, users being unable to log in, or only admins and mods being able to log in, rhaining began the process to port the wiki to Gamepedia in September 2018. Korra II Royal joined on as an admin in November 2018, and Shiren1111 and left the wiki shortly after. Korra II finished porting toe Wikifoundry project to Gamepedia, and later predominantly led the project alone. On September 11, 2019, the Siren the Wanderer wiki's scope was chanegd to cover all Mystery Dungeon video games. The wiki went independent on November 7, 2020 due to the retirement of Gamepedia wikis by Fandom by then admins Korra II and Adkuate, and then editor B. As the site was no longer hosted on Gamepedia, the wiki's scope was yet again increased to cover the entirety of the Mystery Dungeon franchise; including soundtracks, novellas, unused content, events, and more. As such, the wiki was renamed to the Mystery Dungeon Franchise Wiki to better reflect the increased scope, and to differentiate it from the Gamepeida Wiki.
