There is a possibility that Wyrdeer being a white deer Pokemon is a reference to the tale of Takemikazuchi riding a white deer onto Mount Mikasa, within the Nara prefecture. Wyrdeer being respected within the Hisui region mirrors the way that deer are respected in Nara, a location famous for deer that can be hand-fed.
