Water Bubble applies double the attack stat in place of the attack stat of the attacking Pokemon when using a Water move, it doesn't double the Power or apply a modifier in the damage formula. The only practical difference is perhaps a point or two of damage from rounding. As such, I would think to edit the article to say
- "Water Bubble halves the damage dealt to the Pokémon with this Ability by Fire-type attacks and temporarily doubles the effective attack stat of the Pokémon with this Ability while it is using a Water Move."
but I feel that the wording is awkward at best and confusing at worst. ABZB (talk) 21:39, 30 July 2020 (UTC)
- Well, the difference between an increase in the effective attack stat vs. power is minimal, since they're next to each other in the damage formula. Anyway, I think we should be accurate, and then avoid akwardness as much as possible. I think there was another case where something increased power or attack stat while using some type of move, can't remember which it was right now, but maybe that can even be modified to fit here, too!?
