Effects Don't Activate Until Next Turn

I've been testing this move with Pheromosa and Wishiwashi. It seems that Wishiwashi will still have it's normal speed on the turn that Speed Swap is used, but will gain the effects on the next turn. None of the articles for the other Swap moves mention that the moves work this way, so if someone could verify that this is indeed how Speed Swap works that would be great. --ImNotGoodAtPasswords (talk) 01:11, 17 December 2016 (UTC)Reply

Speed is calculated at the beginning of each turn (after you selected what to do), i.e. that's when the turn order is determined. (Do note that there's also priority, though, and some special cases like After You.) The same happens with Sand Rush, for example: if someone else uses Sandstorm this turn, whoever has the Ability will only be acting earlier starting next turn. Ah, that makes sense. Thanks for explaining. Do you think that this is information that should be edited into the article? Even if turn order isn't something that explicitly relates to this move, it seems like it should at least be mentioned, considering the nature of this move and all. --ImNotGoodAtPasswords (talk) 19:53, 17 December 2016 (UTC)Reply
Typically, we only note when something's unexpected or otherwise noteworthy. If somethings's just the way it always is, there's no use on saying that everywhere individually. I think this case is barely more special than String Shot or other moves that affect Speed. So personally, I'd prefer not to include it. Nescientist (talk) 20:07, 17 December 2016 (UTC)Reply
