Possible Origin for Spectrier+Glastrier
Spectrier and Glastrier may be based on Liath Macha and Dub Sainglend, two chariot-horses of the hero Cúchulainn (a demigod) from Irish mythology. --Pika Pika Pi~!! (talk) 22:35, 1 November 2020 (UTC)
Horsemen of the apocalypse theory
Spectrier being based on the horseman of famine doesn't seem like a very well-founded idea to me. Glastrier fits the mold of conquest very well, but there's not much in Spectrier's lore to do with famine. The draining of vitality seems like a stretch, as while it is a feeding mechanism and renders people frailer in what may be similar to malnourishment, it's not a very obvious connection- it's a retroactive justification, picking aspects that fit after selecting a given lens. Gengar, Chandelure, Palossand, Dhelmise... all these are said to drain vitality, doesn't mean they have anything to do with famine. The flimsy, thin root of its carrot could be an argument- and worth mentioning in the article- but frankly I find it to probably just be that way to seem "ghostly".
In fact, I'd say being ghostly is the most notable part of Spectrier- the vampiric draining of life-force may not be associated with famine, but the franchise has heavily tied it to ghost-types, just as it has done to the colors black and purple. So, what's to say spectrier isn't the horse of death? It doesn't have a specified color besides being "pale" or "ashen", but the devs would probably shy away from two white horses (or even a white ghost- there's surprisingly few in canon) and pookas & modern "grim reapers" are already black anyways, so that could explain the color.
With that said, I'll add the possibility of it being the death horse to the page, but I'd also suggest potentially removing the famine theory. I'm not saying the theories can't both be presented, or that if other people find it worthwile it shouldn't be there. I just can't quite see where it's coming from and think its removal should be considered.

Slightly off topic
How is it that Spectrier feeds on (read "requires for survival") other Pokémon's life forces, but does not like to be disturbed (read "to be around other Pokémon")? Eragon4 (talk) 01:38, 12 February 2021 (UTC)
