Name origin

While it's most likely that his English name comes from Sophora chrysophylla, it should be noted that it's also identical to that of the historical Sophocles. I find it kinda surprised that that's not mentioned in the article. Ratcicle Fan (talk) 22:22, 9 August 2016 (UTC)

Missing quotes

whys sophocles so hated

when i hear people talk about alola characters i often hear alot of people hate on sophocles and call him forgetable or their least favorite alola character but i literally see nothing wrong with him...can somebody explain why he gets so much hate from the fanbase Robloxninjawarrior (talk) 19:15, 16 September 2025 (UTC)

This is a question about fans' subjective opinions, which is not necessarily the focus of this wiki. For what it's worth, I do not consider Sophocles forgettable, but you won't find the answer to your question on a Pokémon database that only lists objective information.
