Talk:Retaliate (move)
Get Even?
As we did with Devastate, shouldn't Retaliation be moved to Get Even because of translation of this card?----無限の知性 ◎ DENNOU◆ZENSHI 18:31, 5 November 2010 (
Metagross666 01:00, 2 December 2010 (UTC): My beliefs are this: We don't definitely know whether Get Even is confirmed name. We all know Bulbapedia's policy: Do not give out information about Black and White unless it is confirmed true. Unless someone can give positively true information about a specific move, I believe no user has the right to alter the position of Retaliation(or Get Even if that does happen to be the correct English translation).
Self-Induced KO?
Does this attack get a damage boost if a teammate fainted from suicidal skills like Explosion, Memento, Healing Wish, and Final Gambit? ~ Solarys (talk) 12:55, 21 June 2014 (UTC)
- I tested it with Healing Wish, and it does get the damage boost. I didn't test any other self-KO moves, but I have no reason to believe they would be any different. Red Knight (talk) 20:19, 16 February 2025 (UTC)
How does this interact with teammates fainting in Double, Triple, and Multi Battles?
Does Retaliate get the damage boost if one of the user's partners in a battle with more than one combatant per side faints? If so, does it have to be the turn after the ally faints, or can it be the same turn if the user moves after the ally faints? What if multiple allies faint in a Triple Battle? Is the boost the same? Does the boost apply if the fainted ally is from a Multi Battle partner rather than the user's party? Red Knight (talk) 10:33, 15 February 2025 (UTC)
- Just did a bit of research. In Scarlet and Violet at least, Retaliate does gain the damage boost if a teammate faints in a Double Battle, but only the turn after. If a teammate faints before the Retaliate user acts, Retaliate does not gain the damage boost that turn, only the next turn. Still need to look into Multi Battles and the effects of multiple teammates fainting in one turn. Red Knight (talk) 20:16, 16 February 2025 (UTC)
