Talk:Qualot Berry
HGSS
Is this berry obtainable in game or would I have to trade for it Glalie Power (talk) 22:27, 21 July 2012 (UTC)
TCG card depicting berry
Someone should mention that the card Pansear (Next Destinies 15) shows a Pansear holding a Qualot berry. PokefanR (talk) 02:38, 22 April 2013 (UTC)
No info
What a mess this page is. Hundreds of useless descriptions from the various games, but no actual text as to what this berry does, and how it works. Something's wrong when the templates are bigger than the article. - Colorshade (talk) 12:27, 10 November 2013 (UTC)
- Urm... Have you tried reading the infobox on the right hand side? "A Berry to be consumed by Pokémon. Using it on a Pokémon makes it more friendly but lowers its base Defense." Yeah, that's what it does. It's all there... ☆The Solar Dragon☆ 12:30, 10 November 2013 (UTC)
- How they are useless? Before Emerald - useless besides Pokéblock and the power medicine, since Emerald - lowers Defense EVs and raises friendship.
- POKéblock ingredient. Plant in loamy soil to grow Qualot.
- Can be ground up into powder as an ingredient for medicine.
- Makes a Pokémon friendly but lowers base Defense.
- A Poffin ingredient. Using it on a Pokémon makes it more friendly, but it also lowers its base Defense stat.

- A Berry to be consumed by Pokémon. Using it on a Pokémon makes it more friendly but lowers its base Defense.
- It outright says what they do. Can't see the useless part you found. Uploader (talk) 12:45, 10 November 2013 (UTC)
- However, none of those descriptions tell exactly what the Berry does: lowers Defense EVs by 10 points and increases friendship by 1/5/10 points. All Berry articles really should have an in-depth description, just like moves, Abilities and other items. IIRC, some staff members are already working on it.--電禅Den Zen 13:04, 10 November 2013 (UTC)
- This is how I want Berry pages to look (although maybe move the "Uses" section up to the top of the page). --SnorlaxMonster 13:10, 10 November 2013 (UTC)
- Thanks, that was precisely the information I was looking for. This huge page and no mention of how it actually works. Uploader, it's useless because it's the exact same info, with different wording, pasted over and over. It makes no sense to have it and just clutters up the page. - Colorshade (talk) 23:16, 10 February 2014 (UTC)

FRLG Obtainability
This page lists it can be found in Cerulean City in FRLG, but there is no mention of this on the Cerulean City page.
Has someone got a source for this, or is it safe to remove it. All of the other stat-reducing berries can only be obtained on Four Island Joyful Game Corner.

- Removed the Cerulean City mention. Was added in 2006 when the page was first starting with it just saying "Man in Cerulean" and later "Given by Man in Cerulean" before being shortened to Cerulean City. As far as I can tell, there is no source for this, not even in old guide books. Frozen Fennec 21:13, 17 March 2026 (UTC)
- Sorry for the second response here, had time to play FireRed and LeafGreen again recently and no NPC gives you the Qualot Berry before or after beating the Elite Four. I'm assuming Cerulean City being noted all those years ago was just due to misremembering, happens to all of us. Frozen Fennec 13:54, 27 March 2026 (UTC)
