Talk:Pokémon Showdown

Added a mention of FOSS

Technically showdown is FOSS (think Element IM) rather than simply open source. The distinction is important.--Contye (talk) 10:35, 3 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

Administrators

The section for the administrators appears to be unfinished or outdated, as it lists many PS Staff that are either retired or seem to have never there in the first place. I know for a fact EV should not be on there at the very least, as they got removed recently for things I won't delve into. The credits page is here if that helps. I was going to edit it myself but I'm not sure if I'm missing something, and don't want to unjustly remove anything. --PichuMadman26 13:37, 23 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

Are the mechanics completely accurate?

If I test something in showdown, can I be sure the info is accurate or do I have to check in the main games? Lootad84 (talk) 13:33, 17 March 2026 (UTC)Reply

Any statements about game mechanics added to Bulbapedia must be verified in the games themselves, not in Pokémon Showdown.
While Pokémon Showdown tries to replicate the mechanics of the Pokémon games, it is a different game, so will not always accurately reflect the Pokémon games (and there may even be some cases where they deliberately choose to deviate for one reason or another). Inconsistencies with the Pokémon games are routinely reported as bugs in Pokémon Showdown. SnorlaxMonster 14:38, 17 March 2026 (UTC)Reply
