E3 2006
This page has long claimed that the game was shown at E3. But there's a number of problems with that.
Firstly, E3 2006 was almost a month before this game even came out (May vs June). For what it's worth, it might have been possible for it to be at E3 2007, but by E3 2008 the game was closed. All that said, Pokemate does not appear to be in either E3 2006 (list of games, Nintendo presentation) or 2007 (list of games, Nintendo presentation).
It did appear at Tokyo Game Show 2006 as a hands-on demo (expo's Square Enix list, Square Enix's TGS Pokemate page).
I think it's possible that someone knew of it at TGS but misremembered it as E3. Insofar as this was all supporting the idea that Pokemate might have been intended for US/international release, TGS doesn't support that. Just in case, I'll ask if anyone else can find another show appearance or news story or whatever supporting a possible international release that I haven't been able to find?
