Just a note: I can't be sure if the Mexico event's giveaway device is the same as the United States giveaway device, but at the Pokemon Rocks America tour, there were 4 machines that had a dongle for the gameboy's connection port. I do not know what they were, but I'm guessing they were just gameboy equipment not in a consumer case, as I vaguely remember seeing a game cartridge with a white label on it. It initiated the "record mixing" feature in the game. After that, the person's gameboy was able to spread the ticket to anyone else that mixed records. I do not remember the number of times it would work, but I know my personal one never stopped working.

Source: I was one of the reps giving the ticket away. (I still have my cartridge and my Pokemon Rocks T-shirt!) Because I was actually a fan of the series and had showed up with my own gameboy and Fire Red, they put the ticket on my device and encouraged me to spread it with my own device.
