Marill and Elekid's gender

How is Marill a female and Elekid a male? No gender-inducing moves were used in the episode. PattyMan 22:39, 5 June 2014 (UTC)

I saw the love triangle between Piplup, Marill, and Elekid but that doesn't determine the genders of the latter two. I wanted to know if the genders of the two were mentioned in the Japanese/English version or both somewhere. The Purrloin in Purrloin: Sweet or Sneaky? proved the same-sex love otherwise as Meowth and Oshawott didn't know that Purrloin was a guy until the end of the episode. PattyMan 02:55, 6 June 2014 (UTC)
