Trivia

I added this piece of trivia to the article a few days ago: "To cross this route, the player must ride Rhyhorn, which is not bothered by the spikes. However, Rhyhorn can take damage from Spikes." It was removed a few days later. Although I am be fine with this, the person who removed it said that he or she did so because "It's just a rocky passage, not specifically a spiky one." The route is referred to by the game itself as "Spikes Passage," so it must actually be a spiky one; however, I don't want to start an edit war, so I would like to know whether or not I am allowed to add it back. Thank you in advance! EpicDeino (talk) 01:48, 6 November 2013 (UTC)

There's a difference between environment and moves it seems in the Pokémon world. Like Rhydon having x4 weakness to water but being able to swim. Or Sandshrew happily riding on top of a geyser in Pokémon Stadium despite its weakness to water. Jo the Marten ಠ_ಠ 01:52, 6 November 2013 (UTC)
I was the one who removed the edit. I think the more important thing is that Spikes in Japanese is 'caltrops'. This road is not filled with caltrops, it's a bumpy rocky passage and typically the Japanese names of things take precedence for move appearances. I can cite other such (mostly unrelated) examples, but for this specifically the fact that the road is not filled with caltrops renders the trivia point moot. Okay! That makes more sense. Thanks for your help! EpicDeino (talk) 19:54, 6 November 2013 (UTC)
