Talk:Haina Desert
Gabite
Gabite can be found as an SOS Pokemon in this area (provided there is a sandstorm ongoing). I don't know all the details like what levels it is or the percent chance of it happening. --Song of the Dragon (talk) 00:10, 8 December 2016 (UTC)
Safety Goggles unlock
I can confirm that you have to defeat the Ula'ula island kahuna, Nanu, before being able to acquire the Safety Goggles, much like the Return/Frustration TM's and Reaper Cloth on Ula'Ula. I checked many times beforehand after being able to access the desert itself, and I immediately left Aether Paradise to go and get the Goggles after you are automatically taken there after defeating Nanu. Harsh sunlight
According to the article, the desert has harsh sunlight during the day and sandstorms at night. However, I've found that both during the day and the night it is a sandstorm. (If it matters, I haven't defeated the Kahuna yet.) --SnorlaxMonster 11:53, 17 December 2016 (UTC)
- Okay, harsh sunlight appeared right on 10 o'clock (according to the Pokémon Center Café). So it's not quite day/night, but close to it. --SnorlaxMonster 12:05, 17 December 2016 (UTC)
- I once had a weather shift right in the middle of an hour (and at the same time noticed that the background had become darker). At that time, I had actually wondered whether that (or the day/night shift in general, or at least the shift to some "dusk") might be based on the actual sunset in Honululu or something, but never really cared to track that down (or even replicate it). And then I noticed that Time says it's just six to six. Nescientist (talk) 12:19, 17 December 2016 (UTC)
- It's hard to check for certain that there's never any other change at some odd time, but it looks like it switches to sunny at 10:00 and to sandstorm at 17:00. I.e., all "night" it's a sandstorm, as well as a bit after sunrise/before sunset; otherwise, during most of the daytime it's sunny. (This is after becoming champion but before doing any UB missions.) - (All I remember as looking at the clock after the weather change, and it was ~25 minutes within the hour. I have no memories of what I did before that, so I might have left the 3DS idle for half an hour or something, all I remember is that I briefly thought "Strange!?", then continued with SOS Battles. So don't trust me too much here.)
- Are the Safety Goggles actually available when there is sandstorm? I've heard people doubt that the condition is night (though it was night/sandstorm when I obtained it). Nescientist (talk) 18:16, 6 February 2017 (UTC)
- Nah, it needs to be night, not merely sandstorm. That and the trial, apparently. Nescientist (talk) 15:03, 9 February 2017 (UTC)
