Morana, elaborated
Not only does 'mora' mean moth in various Slavic languages, as noted in some of my recent contributions, but here are a few other connections I made looking through her Wikipedia article:
- Ribbons? The designs in Frosmoth's wings appear to be formed with them, ends cut at that signature ribbon angle.
- Blown egg shells? Frosmoth's body is shaped like an upside-down egg.
- Wearing a garland? Frosmoth's "shawl" could be interpreted as a fluffy white garland.
- Burning ritual = Frosmoth's double fire weakness?
The article also links her to nightmare spirits. Interestingly, her antennae are pretty reminiscent of Misdreavus' "brows" (which themselves may be a nod to antennae, seeing as zmora could transform into a moth). Both Morana and zmora are sometimes referred to as mara as well. Icycatelf (talk) 04:21, 30 November 2025 (UTC)
