Pokémon Meiji VS series

Pokémon Meiji VS Series is the eighth and final set of collectible Pokémon cards released by Meiji. Released in 2002, this set features embossed holofoil artwork of two Pokémon engaged in a Pokémon battle. Like the Pokémon Meiji Silver Rainbow set, these cards do not contain the "rock-paper-scissors" icons typical of Meiji-released cards.

The reverse sides feature statistics of both Pokémon and some additional flavor text. The set features some otherwise identical cards with different-colored bars, for example, the Lugia vs. Charizard card has both a red bar version and a purple one. It is unclear if one variant is more rare than the other.
