Pokémon Masters EX/Version history

These are the updates to Pokémon Masters EX.

The game receives major content updates monthly, generally between the 20th and end of a given month.

Each monthly update adds all event and sync pair data for the coming month in advance. These events and sync pairs then gradually become available in the live game, on certain pre-determined dates.

Smaller updates occur intermittently, and tend to fix bugs or change the app icon mid-month to correspond to events.

Interrupted play data for an area will now be stored for a maximum of 7 days from the time the area was started. Made a change so that the icons of duplicate sync pairs obtained via sync pair scout can be viewed on the Results screen. Made a change so that battle rewards are displayed on the Area Details screen. Reward Boost Tickets have been added. Reward Boost Tickets can be used in certain areas to increase the amount of completion rewards and battle rewards obtained. Made a change so that the Optimize feature can be directly selected from the battle preparation screen of areas with three-player teams. Made a change so that an optimized team based on the area's recommended types can be formed automatically on the battle preparation screen as well as the Edit Team screen. The Level Up Sync Moves option, which increases the damage and effectiveness of sync moves and increases the attack power of moves, has now been renamed to Level Up Moves to better represent the aforementioned features. The Increase Potential section of the Team menu has been changed to Potential & Move Level. This screen can now be used to increase a sync pair's number of ★s as well as level up their moves. You can level up a sync pair's moves by going to the Team menu and selecting Potential & Move Level, and then pressing the Level Up Moves button. When you acquire a sync pair that you have already teamed up with through methods such as the sync pair scout, their move level can be raised to a maximum of 5. To coincide with this change, Move Candy, which are items used to level up moves, have been added. Made a change so that the role and weakness type names are displayed when the corresponding icons are tapped on the sync pair details screen. Adjusted Battle Villa co-op battle rewards and applied a restriction to the number of plays available per day. The sync orb chance feature has ended. Made other minor changes for consistency and text fixes. Other minor bug fixes and improvements have been implemented.

Fixed an issue in which in some regions, when transferring to iOS under certain conditions, the player would be unable to proceed past the title screen. Fixed an issue in which passive skills that trigger when receiving attacks would take effect even if the attack failed (due to status conditions, etc.). For more details, visit the News section of the app or the official website.	The Egg feature has been updated. Egg Research Items have been added to the shop. Event Medals have been added to the Medals screen. Event medals can be obtained by completing specific conditions in some future events. The move gauge's initial slot count has been changed from 4 to 6. A new mission feature has been added where you can team up with a sync pair you have selected from a set pool after completing a designated area. The startup tutorial and the other tutorials in the game have been improved. Fixed an issue that occurred on the Medals section of the Poryphone menu in which, when setting PML badges as favorites, the set Medals would not display. Fixed an issue in which meeting Missions conditions for obtaining the 1★ standard Medals Technical Victor may not have counted towards completion. Updates to the Explore Menu The current Training Area will be renamed the EX Plaza, and a brand-new Training Area will be added as a place where Items for strengthening your sync pairs can be obtained. In the Training Area, you can take on battles to earn Sync Orbs as well as Items used to unlock level caps. To coincide with the addition of the new Training Area, the courses and supercourses found in the current EX Plaza will be removed. A stamina function will be introduced as a trial. Some battles will require stamina to play, but there will also be battles that do not require stamina. Skip tickets will be introduced. Using a skip ticket before some battles where you have met the requirements will allow you to skip the battle and obtain the rewards immediately. A Player Rank system will be added. You can increase your Player Rank by accumulating rank points obtained through battles. Your maximum Stamina increases according to your Player Rank. The limit of one Super Hard difficulty battle per week in Main Story (co-op) will be removed. You will be able to take on EX Challenges by yourself by forming three teams using your own Sync Pairs. Updates to Sync Pairs Type skills will be introduced. Type skills are new skills that all sync pairs will have. They are activated when you have two or more sync pairs on your team that share the same sync move type. The Sync Pairs you team up with will come without a single Move or Passive Skill left to unlock. To coincide with this, the Moves & Skills menu will be removed. The level cap unlocking feature up to the third tier will be removed. The level caps of all sync pairs will be adjusted to coincide with this change. The initial level cap of all sync pairs will be 100, regardless of their number of ★s. The number of items required to unlock the level caps of some sync pairs will be reduced. Updates to Items Some items, such as the Buff Blend and the Training Machine, will become redundant following the changes. Some of the redundant items can be exchanged for other items in the Exchange Items menu. Move Candy Coins will be added. You can exchange them for 5★ Move Candy by collecting a certain amount. Updates to Missions Weekly Mission Bingo will be removed. For Gems that could be obtained as Bingo Rewards in Mission Bingo, the daily mission rewards will be adjusted so as not to reduce the number of Gems obtainable in one week. The contents of Mission Bingo: Beginner, Mission Bingo: Intermediate, and Mission Bingo: Advanced will be adjusted. The daily mission content will be changed. To coincide with the removal of level cap unlocking feature up to the third tier, missions related to unlocking the level cap a certain number of times will now be counted by unlocking Lv. 110 and Lv. 120. Other Updates Fixed a bug where moves featuring the additional effects of Flinching and Confusion improperly calculated the accuracy of those effects by basing them on a recalculation of the move's success rate again from the beginning. Scheduled Date/Time: August 27, 2020 at 11:00 p.m. The Champion Stadium is new battle content where the Elite Four and Champion of each region will be waiting for you. Check out the separate notice to be released at a later date for more information. 6★ EX Update Your sync pairs can now be raised beyond 5 ★s to 6★ EX. Upgrading their ★s to 6★ EX will allow Trainers to wear EX Style outfits and also upgrade their sync moves. Sync pairs that can be raised to 6★ EX are scheduled to be released in stages. The items required for upgrading to 6★ EX can be obtained via the Champion Stadium. To upgrade to 6★ EX, you must have completed Main Story Chapter 1: The More the Merrier (Normal) in single-player. Updates to Sync Pair Scout An icon has been added to transition from the Pokémon Center straight to the Sync Pair Scout. A pop-up notification will now appear to notify of new additions to the Sync Pair Scout when transitioning to the Sync Pair Scout. Updates to Sync Pairs Improved the display of sync pairs on the Edit Team screen and other locations. A sync pair's current move level can now be viewed, and the sync pair's icon will change according to that level. The background of a sync pair will change according to its number of ★s, and the Trainer's pose will also change for 6★ EX sync pairs. Updates to Battle Villa Some move configurations of opponent sync pairs that appear in the Battle Villa have been changed. Note: Changes will be applied to the currently available Battle Villa with the update. Other Updates The design of the Explore menu has been updated. A pop-up notification about current events and rallies will now be displayed while at the Pokémon Center. Changed the layout of the Legendary Arena's arena selection screen. Note: In this update, changes were made to the layout of the arena selection screen for the current Legendary Arena: Latios. No changes were made to the event's features or content. Changes will now be displayed in more detail when a move level increases. The name of the Team menu has been changed to Sync Pairs. Some screens in the game now allow you to switch between tabs showing your Pokémon hatched from Eggs and your other Sync Pairs. Added a new Ticket Scout and the items needed to use the scout. Added new Notes to the Notes section of the Purchase Gems screen. Changed the layout of the area selection screen for story events. The amount of stamina required for each battle in the Sync Orb Area has been unified to 10. When using gems to replenish stamina, the number of gems required will always be 40, and stamina can be replenished a maximum of 10 times. You can check out About Theme Skills for more information. Filter Update Improved the Sync Pair selection filters. You can now refine your search using Theme Skill themes. You can also search using move categories or effects. Removed the weakness filter with the update. Changed the screen layout to improve convenience in conjunction with the addition and removal of various filters. You can now refine your search using the Initial Number of ★s filter in the Potential & Move Level screen. Training Area Update A new area has been added to the Training Area's Cap-Unlock Area. To coincide with the new area addition, the Level Cap of Sync Pairs will be increased to Lv. 130. New Items required to unlock the new Level Cap will be added. Check out the separate notice to be released at a later date for more information. Stamina Update Stamina will now replenish by 1 every 4 minutes instead of 1 every 6 minutes. Egg Feature Update Increased the number of Pokémon that can be left at the Day Care from 100 to 200. Other Updates Previously, Passive Skills that activate during attacks would not activate if attacking resulted in the user fainting by recoil damage, like with Double-Edge, or damage over time, like with the Poisoned condition or Hail, but now they will activate. Fixed an issue that occurred when taking part in consecutive battles with a single team, in which having an active Theme Skill effect that adds HP would cause HP to be restored at the start of the next consecutive battle. Fixed an issue in which activation of certain Passive Skills would sometimes prevent the standard Medal Blunderful from being obtained, despite meeting conditions. For more details, visit the News section of the app or the official website.	Changed the Sync Move voice-over for Dawn & Turtwig. Fixed an issue in which attacking with the Move, Solar Beam while the Weather is Hail or a Sandstorm would cause damage to be taken from the Weather. Note: Damage from the Weather is still taken while the user is getting ready to attack after selecting Solar Beam. Fixed an issue in which Auto-Incubate does not work correctly under certain conditions. In conjunction with this fix, we will make some adjustments to the important information concerning the Eggcelerator Pass on January 28, 2021. Users who had a vaild Eggcelerator Pass while the issue was occurring will receive 300 Non-paid Gems starting January 29, 2021. Fixed an issue in which accuracy would not be properly calculated in the following situations. When a Sync Pair with raised accuracy attacks a Sync Pair that has lowered evasiveness and also has the Nimble Footed or Enlightenment Passive Skills, including those learned via Lucky Skill. When a Sync Pair with raised evasiveness is attacked by a Sync Pair that has lowered accuracy and also has the Mind's Eye or Enlightenment Passive Skills, including those learned via Lucky Skill. As compensation for this issue, 300 non-paid gems have been sent to all players. Other minor bug fixes and improvements have been implemented.

Note: Any duplicate Medals you receive will automatically be converted into 10 Power-Ups with the same number of ★s. Improved the display during battle to always show stat changes (in stat ranks) for Sync Pairs. Improved how recommended types are displayed on the battle preparation screen. Revised the description text for First Aid 2, Amped Up 2, and Amped Up 4. Note: If you are unable to enter the Hall of Fame within the week, the “In progress,” marks disappear. Power Siphon 1-9 Before Change: Lowers the opponent’s Attack by one stat rank. After Change: Lowers the Attack of an opponent that attacked the user by one stat rank. About the Type Rebuff Status Change The new Type Rebuff status change has been added. The Type Rebuff status change is available for each of the 18 Types, and they can either increase or decrease the damage taken from that Type. They can be raised or lowered by three ranks, and the higher the rank is, the less damage is taken. Conversely, the lower the rank is, the more damage is taken. Switching out a Sync Pair will remove all of its Type Rebuffs. Note: Type Rebuff is a different status change from Type Resistance. Changes to a Passive Skill Description Changed the description of “Piercing Blows” as follows: Before Change: Grants all of the following effects when the user is attacking with a move or sync move. After Change: Grants all of the following effects when the user is attacking. Note: The Before Change and After Change text only show the changed portions, not the entire description. Go to the Battle Menu during a battle and tap the Quit button to select Quit or Restart Battle. By tapping on Quit, you will quit the battle like usual. If you tap on Restart Battle, you can retry the current battle from the beginning with the same team. Note: Co-op Battles do not support the Restart Battle feature. Sync Pairs Featuring Trainers with the Same Name You will now be able to have multiple Sync Pairs that include Trainers with the same name in your team. Optimized teams can also have Sync Pairs that feature Trainers with the same name. Note: This also applies to the Main Character’s Sync Pair, so you can add them to the same team to participate in the battle. About the Check Successful Teams Feature In some area info, you can now see the teams that other players used to complete the area, as well as replays of other teams’ battles. This lasts until the Sync Move is successful, or the Sync Pair is switched out. Note: Sync Pairs capable of using the Sync Move ↑ Next effect will appear in the future. Daily Scout Starting from the following date and time, we will revamp the Daily Scout. Certain Sync Pairs that reach move level 5 will have their Superawakening unlocked. You can use special items to upgrade their Superawakening and raise their Superawakening Level. As the level increases, the Sync Pair will become even stronger. The Superawakening Level can be raised up to level 5. Once it has reached the maximum, the Sync Pair’s Superawakened Passive Skill will be unlocked. Please see the “About Superawakening” announcement for more information. We plan to release Sync Pairs that can unlock Superawakening in the future. Special Poses Added New special poses have been added to the Pose section of the Photo Creator. All Sync Pairs have had their Special Pose 1 added and listed as SP1. Note: When a special pose is selected, you can’t rotate a Trainer or change their expression. Except in certain circumstances, this status change causes the next attack move or Sync Move that targets all allies to miss all allies except the user and inflict more damage on the user. This status change’s effect only activates for attacks that target all allies and does not activate for attacks that target only a single ally. Also, the effect will not activate when there are no allies present other than the user. This status change lasts until its effect activates once—or until the Sync Pair is switched out. New tower-style battle content known as Pasio Towers has been added, allowing you to fight your way up the floors of towers with team restrictions. Strengthen your Sync Pairs and take on the challenge provided by these towers! Beginner’s Guide The Beginner’s Guide has been added as Missions aimed at players just starting Pokémon Masters EX, as well as those returning after some time. Naturally, active players are also welcome to participate, and we encourage everyone to try completing these Missions to collect various rewards. Also, an EX Role and Superawakening have been added to 3★ Main Character & Pikachu, and they have gained the ability to be raised to 6★ EX. Note: You can get exclusive items for 3★ Main Character & Pikachu, such as Roll Cakes and Custom Superawakening Candies, by completing Beginner’s Guide Missions. Note: If you have already completed the requirements of these newly added Missions, you will have fulfilled the conditions for them and can claim your rewards. Fair-Exclusive 5★-Guaranteed Ticket Scout In conjunction with the Beginner’s Guide, the Fair-Exclusive 5★-Guaranteed Ticket Scout has been added. You can obtain Fair-Guaranteed Scout Tickets as a mission completion reward from the Beginner’s Guide. One ticket lets you use the scout one time. Note: The Fair-Guaranteed Scout Ticket can only be used for the Fair-Exclusive 5★-Guaranteed Ticket Scout. Removal of Theme Skill Upgrades The Theme Skill upgrade option has been removed from the Sync Pair upgrade menu. To coincide with this, the Theme Skill Area will be removed from the Training Area, and Skill Spheres will be removed from various rewards. Note: After this update, all of your Sync Pairs’ Theme Skills will be changed to Lv. 4. Note: Any Skill Spheres that you have already acquired will remain as-is. New Level Cap Now Available A new level cap has been unlocked, and the level cap can be raised to Lv. 200. A Certificate of Excellence is required from Lv. 151 to Lv. 180, and a Plaque of Perfection is required from Lv. 181 onward. Note: Starting at Lv. 151, the level cap can be raised one level at a time. Note: Other than Egg Sync Pairs, all Sync Pairs will be able to unlock their level cap. The maximum level for Egg Sync Pairs will remain at Lv. 150. A new item required to unlock the new level cap, Plaque of Perfection, will be added. Plaques of Perfection can be obtained as a reward, such as from the Pasio Towers. Note: You cannot obtain Certificates of Excellence or Plaques of Perfection in the Training Area. Issue Details Under certain conditions, items that should not have been sent may appear in the Temp Storage section of the Present Box, and an error message may display when attempting to collect them. Conditions for Occurrence: When purchasing the Daily Gem Bundle EX or Daily Gem Bundle EX + without collecting the 20 days of Gems from the Log-in Bonus that is exclusive to purchasers of those bundles, then logging in after 60 days or more have passed. Note: This issue may not occur even if the conditions for occurrence are met. What Happens When This Issue Occurs: If 60 days pass after purchasing the Daily Gem Bundle EX or Daily Gem Bundle EX +, players can collect all of the remaining Paid Gems from the Log-in Bonus regardless of how many days they logged in. These Gems can be collected without any issues or disadvantages. Notice of Changes to Pasio Gym Battles Details In some cases, gyms are able to obtain scores that are higher than anticipated. Upon consideration, we will be making changes. Before Changes (Pasio Gym Battle No. 1 and 2): If multiple players took on the same battle at the same time, each score would be added to the count. After Changes (Pasio Gym Battle No. 3 onward): If multiple players take on the same battle at the same time, only the score of the player whose results were finalized first will be reflected. Players who attempt to finalize their battle results after that will not have their score counted, and the Gym Battle Challenge Tickets they used will be returned. The following Sync Moves and Max Moves will be updated to ignore the target’s Enduring effect: G-Max Rapid Flow G-Max Drum Solo G-Max Fireball Dawn Lunar Eclipse Moongeist Beam Dusk Solar Eclipse Sunsteel Strike The new Endure and Restore status change has the following effects: When the Pokémon takes damage that would otherwise reduce its HP to 0, it fully restores its HP instead of fainting. Unlike Enduring, the effect will also activate when the Pokémon is hit by Sync Moves. The effect cannot be applied at the same time as Enduring. Note: Check the Tips section for more information.
