The Pokémon Deluxe Micro Playsets were released by Jakks Pacific in 2009 and 2010.

Each set is shaped like a Pokeball and opens up into three sections. All sets were sold with three miniature characters and the base serves as a safe storage compartment for these small figures. Nods to the anime included images of main characters and wild Pokémon present in each of the sets. Additionally, the sets all contained a variety of interactive features such as caverns and movable components to give the illusion a figure is flying.

Each set had a thematic colour to differentiate it from the other sets.

Series One

The Waterfall Micro Set included a Piplup, Meowth and Starly figure. The exterior was blue.

The Battle Arena Micro Set was red in colour. The set is based on a match between Brock and Ash, with figures Pikachu, Croagunk and Gligar

The Forest Micro Set features Mothim, Turtwig and Buneary, it may be loosely base on Sinnoh's Eterna Forest.

Series Two

The Gym Micro Set is gold in colour and features all fighting type pokemon, including Heracross, Meditite and Machop. This set is likely a homage to Veilstone Gym, an all Fighting-type gym in Sinnoh.

The Underground Cave Micro Set has a silver exterior and includes all Rock-types, Geodude, Omanyte and Kabuto. The inclusion of the two fossil Pokémon indicates the set is based on the Oreburgh Mine and the broader mining feature included in the Pokémon Diamond, Pearl and Platinum games.

The Pokémon Center Micro Set is yellow on the outside, it features Chimchar, Happiny, Pachirisu. This is the only set to feature a Pokémon from each of the travelling trio's anime-based teams, Ash's Chimchar, Brock's Happiny and Dawn's Pachirisu respectively.

The Ghost Micro Set has a dark blue outside and features Misdreavus, Gengar and Hoothoot.

The Snow Adventure Micro set has an ice blue exterior. It includes three figures, Weavile, Swinub and Snover.
