Trivia

Errors

  • In the "What is Evolution?" section, it states that "there are some [Pokémon] that evolve once, twice, or more!".[1] However, with the exception of Mega Evolution, no Pokémon evolves more than twice.
    • It is unclear whether the book considers Mega Evolution as an Evolution. It states that Sableye "can Mega Evolve, but do not have any Evolutions."[2], yet Mega Venusaur is considered Bulbasaur's "mega, final Evolution".[3]
  • In the "Pokémon Eggs" section, it states that many baby Pokémon "require max friendship to evolve".[4] In reality, friendship Evolution only requires high friendship, not max.
  • The "Males and Females" section describes the branched evolutionary lines of Kirlia and Snorunt. While it correctly identifies Gallade and Froslass as gender-based Evolutions, it states that Gardevoir evolves from a female Kirlia and Glalie evolves from a male Snorunt.[5] In reality, Kirlia and Snorunt of either gender can evolve into Gardevoir and Glalie, respectively.
  • In the "Changing types" section, it states that Johtonian Corsola can evolve into Cursola[6], which is not true; only Galarian Corsola can evolve.
  • In the "Regional Evolutions" section, it states that "Most regional Evolutions also gain another type".[7] In truth, the majority of evolved Pokémon that are regional variants or evolve from regional variants do not change type.
  • Hitmonchan's name is not centered in its label.[8]
  • Alcremie is said to have 70 forms when it only has 63.[9]
  • Vast Poni Canyon is referred to as simply "Poni Canyon".[10]
