Release information

In Japan, this card was released as a S-P Promotional card and was available as part of the Project Piplup multimedia and merchandise campaign through various stores:

  • Starting September 21, 2021, customers making a purchase at any Pokémon Center, Pokémon Store, or from the Pokémon Center Online were given a copy of the card. This promotion ran for as long as stocks lasted.
  • Customers at participating Lawson stores purchasing at least two eligible items of confectionery between September 21 and 27, 2021 were given a copy of the card. Distribution was limited to 35 copies per store.[1]
  • Patrons at participating Namco amusement arcades could redeem a service ticket on the Namco Point app for every ¥300 spent playing eligible crane games. This could be used to generate an in-app coupon, which together with the service ticket, could be shown to staff in exchange for a copy of the card. Two service tickets could also be used to enter a Namco lottery, which offered Piplup-themed cups, coasters, and stickers. All lottery entrants received a promotional Piplup Pokémon Mezastar tag. This promotion ran between September 21 and October 31, 2021.[2]
  • Customers purchasing at least one Piplup Tokyo Banana from the PaQ to MoG online store or participating Tokyo Banana stores were given a copy of the card. The online promotion began on October 1, 2021 and was limited to 3,000 copies[3], whereas physical locations began the promotion on October 2. Both ran for as long as stocks lasted.

Distribution was limited to one per person per store for every promotion. The card features the Project Piplup logo in the bottom right corner of the artwork.
