POKÉMON X KOGEI


POKÉMON X KOGEI | Playful Encounters of Pokémon and Japanese Craft (Japanese: ポケモン×工芸展―美とわざの大発見― Pokémon X Kogei Exhibit-The Great Discovery of Beauty and Technique-) is a traveling crafts exhibit from 2023 to 2026 themed around the Pokémon franchise, featuring nearly a hundred works produced by 20 leading craft artists in Japan. It is a collaboration between the National Crafts Museum in Japan and The Pokémon Company held in various museums and galleries in Japan, as well as the JAPAN HOUSE Los Angeles in the United States.

POKÉMON X KOGEI: Kimono Pikachu (Japanese: ぬいぐるみ ポケモン×工芸展のピカチュウ), also known as The Pokémon Plush: Pokémon x Kougeiten Craft Exhibition – Pikachu, is a Pikachu plush with dimensions of 22.3 x 16 x 10.5 cm that is dressed in a kimono featuring a traditional Japanese pattern called kōji tsunagi (工字繋ぎ). It is made available for purchase for ¥2,640 (tax included) at the following stores in the duration of their respective exhibits:
- Pokémon Center Online starting from March 20, 2023 for the exhibition period in National Crafts Museum and April 1, 2024 for the exhibition period in Sagawa Art Museum
- Pokémon Center Kanazawa starting from March 21, 2023

Three stages of raffles were held in conjunction with the exhibit in Azabudai Hills Gallery.
The first stage featured Terumasa Ikeda's Monument Shard (Japanese: せきひのかけら). There are 28 variants of the art piece with each based on Unown's 28 separate forms. The application period for the raffle was from November 11, 2024 (10:00AM) to November 17, 2024 (24:00). The notification period for winners was from November 25, 2024 to December 2, 2024 with the items shipped during mid to late December 2024.
The second stage featured Takuro Kuwata's Cup (Pikachu) (Japanese: カップ(ピカチュウ)) and Bowl (Pikachu) (Japanese: ボウル(ピカチュウ)). The cups come in two sizes and various colors with a total of 28 pieces, while only one bowl was made available for the event. The application period for the raffle was from November 25, 2024 (10:00AM) to December 1, 2024 (24:00). The notification period for winners was from December 9, 2024 to December 16, 2024 with the items shipped during mid to late January 2025.
The third stage featured Kasumi Ueba's works:
- Shaymin with Fern Arabesque Pattern, Field of Flowers (Japanese: 羊歯唐草文シェイミ花畑)
- Grookey with Arabesque Pattern, Sound Wave (Japanese: 唐草文サルノリ音波)
- Scorbunny with Flame Pattern, Dash (Japanese: 火炎文ヒバニー疾走)
- Sobble with Water Pattern, Tears (Japanese: 水文メッソン泪)
The application period for the raffle was from January 22, 2025 (10:00AM) to February 2, 2025 (24:00). The notification period for winners was from February 6, 2025 to February 13, 2025 with the items shipped during mid to late February 2025.
The art pieces above come packaged in special paulownia wooden boxes.
- Matsuzakaya Art Gallery
In conjunction with the exhibit in the Matsuzakaya Art Gallery, five pieces of Saori Mizuhashi's Sash, "Flash -Beacon-," Yuzen Dyeing (Japanese: 友禅帯「閃光-道しるべ-」) were made available for purchase through online raffle. The sashes are based on the Sash, "Flash," Yuzen Dyeing that was displayed in the exhibit. The raffle was conducted in two parts with the application period for the first part held from April 26, 2025 (10:00AM) to May 13, 2025 (24:00) and the second part held from May 20, 2025 (10:00AM) to June 15, 2025 (24:00). The announcement of winners was made on May 16, 2025 and June 19, 2025, respectively.
- Hachinohe Art Museum
Two stages of raffles were held in conjunction with the exhibit in Hachinohe Art Museum.
The first stage featured Keiko Masumoto's "Vulpix/Shigaraki Jar" Wall Décor (Japanese: 「ロコン/信楽壷」壁掛け) and "Piplup/Underglazed Plate" Wall Décor (Japanese: 「ポッチャマ/染付皿」壁掛け) with each coming in 25 pieces. The application period for Masumoto's works was from June 28, 2025 (10:00AM) to July 22, 2025 (24:00) with the winners announced on July 25, 2025.
The second stage featured Eiichi Shiroma's Tsumugi Sash, "Screw Pine Gate," Ryukyu Bingata (Japanese: 琉球紅型「アダンゲート」六通帯 紬). The sash is available in three pieces with each featuring a different color: chartreuse (若草色), turquoise (ターコイズ), and dark green (濃い草色). The application period for Shiroma's sash was from July 24, 2025 (10:00AM) to August 18, 2025 (24:00) with the winners announced on August 21, 2025.
- Nagasaki Museum of History and Culture
Two stages of raffles were held in conjunction with the exhibit in Nagasaki Museum of History and Culture.
The first stage featured five pieces of Saori Mizuhashi's Sash, "Flash -Beacon-," Yuzen Dyeing (Japanese: 友禅帯「閃光ー道しるべー」) once again. The application period for Mizuhashi's works was from September 12, 2025 (10:00AM) to October 22, 2025 (24:00) with the winners announced on October 24, 2025.
The second stage featured Sadamasa Imai's Bulbasaur (Japanese: フシギダネ), coming in ten variants. The application period for Imai's works was from October 24, 2025 (10:00AM) to December 7, 2025 (24:00) with the winners announced on December 9, 2025.
- Hokkaido Museum of Modern Art
In conjunction with the exhibit in the Hokkaido Museum of Modern Art, eight pieces of Toru Fukuda's Beautifly Framed Inlay -Silver Wind- (Japanese: アゲハント彫嵌飾額 -ぎんいろのかぜ-) were made available for purchase through online raffle. It is a relief carving that is crafted from 11 types of wood: Quercus crispula, Japanese oak, kurogaki (black persimmon wood), longstalk holly, wax tree, Kalopanax septemlobus [blued by Chlorosplenium aeruginosum], pink ivory, sycamore, imbuia, satine bloodwood, and teak.
The raffle was conducted in two parts with the application period for the first part held from April 25, 2026 (9:30AM) to May 13, 2025 (23:59) and the second part held from May 25, 2026 (9:30AM) to June 21, 2026 (23:59). The announcement of the winners will be made on May 26, 2026 and June 23, 2026, respectively.

- Stamp Rally Holographic Stickers
Venue-exclusive holographic stickers were given to participants who completed the stamp rally where Pokémon stamps are collected from various locations in Azabudai Hills. Two rounds of stamp rally were held in the duration of the exhibit with the first held from November 1 to 11, 2024 and the second held from January 6 to February 2, 2025. Each round features a set of stickers with one sticker from the respective sets randomly distributed to each participant with a limit of one per person. The first set of stickers was only made available to the first 10,000 participants, while the second set of stickers was only made available to the first 30,000 participants

Posters for the Azabudai venue in A2 size were distributed by lottery to weekday visitors with tickets for the day at the venue. It was available in three versions with 30 posters distributed per day. The posters were made available in the following period:

- December 3 to 5, 2024: Venusaur

- Lucky Envelope
In commemoration of the full-house attendance for the exhibit, the first 1,500 visitors of the Azabudai Hills Arena would receive a specially designed lucky envelope containing a 5-yen coin.
During the distribution period, a Pikachu mascot dressed in a kimono also distributed goody bags that randomly contained winning tickets for free sugar scones in the café.

Matsuzakaya Art Gallery
Venue-exclusive stickers were given to participants who collected all three stamps located in Matsuzakaya Art Gallery, Matsuzakaya Rooftop Amusement Park, and Pokémon Center Nagoya for the stamp rally. The stickers come in three designs where the stickers were randomly distributed to each participant with a limit of one per person per day.

Hachinohe Art Museum
The Weekday Visitor Bonus Stickers were given to weekday visitors (excluding designated dates) upon entry as a special gift, coming in two designs with the second sticker distributed from August 4, 2025. The stickers were only made available to the first 20,000 visitors.
With purchase of the Hachinohe City Waku Waku 1-Day Pass, the first 10,000 visitors would receive the 1-Day Bus Ticket Holder Bonus Sticker. Those who visited the exhibit on designated dates (weekends, holidays, August 12-15, 2025) would also be able to avail the Weekday Visitor Bonus Stickers.

The POKÉMON X KOGEI Mamehata (Japanese: ポケモン×工芸展豆ハタ) is a venue-exclusive mini-flag included with purchase of the Premium Ticket. The flag was only available in limited quantities. It is approximately 33.5cm in height and 36cm in width.
A venue-exclusive sticker was given to visitors who visited during December 2 to 5, 2025 in commemoration of the exhibit reaching 40,000 visitors.

Café POKÉMON X KOGEI (Japanese: 喫茶 ポケモン×工芸展) was a collaborative café that was set up at the Azabudai Hills Gallery Café from November 1, 2024 to February 2, 2025.
There are two different menu periods with the first menu featuring Special Croque Monsieur and Ho-oh and Lugia Black Sesame Latte from November 1, 2024 to December 25, 2024 and the second menu featuring Gomoku Chirashi and Ho-oh and Shaymin Matcha Latte from December 26, 2024 to February 2, 2025.
The scones are only available for takeout.
Luncheon mat in A3 size was given to customers who ordered items from the collaborative menu.

Azabudai Brownie Matcha Tin Can [POKÉMON X KOGEI] (Japanese: 麻布台ブラウニー・抹茶缶 【ポケモン×工芸展】) and POKÉMON X KOGEI Picnic Bag (Japanese: ポケモン×工芸展 ピクニックバッグ) were made available for purchase respectively at "CRIOLLO" and "Patisserie and Cafe Delimo" in Azabudai Hills from November 1, 2024 to February 2, 2025.

POKÉMON X KOGEI Aoyagi Souhonke Hitokuchi-Uirou (Japanese: ポケモン×工芸展 青柳総本家 ひとくちういろう) was made available for purchase from April 26, 2025 to June 15, 2025 at the Aoyagi Souhonke Osu Main Store and the other branches of Aoyagi Souhonke Moriyama Shop and Aoyagi Souhonke KITTE Nagoya, as well as PLUSTA Gift Nagoya Chuo in JR Nagoya Station and the POKÉMON X KOGEI exhibit in Matsuzakaya Art Gallery.
