A Star for Tauros (Japanese: ケンタロスのまもりがみのなみだ The Tears of Kentauros's Guardian Deity) is written by Akihito Toda and illustrated by Yukiko Baba. In English, it is the 22nd and last book in the original Pokémon Tales series. In Japanese, it is the 27th book. It is 18 pages long.

Plot

A herd of Tauros gather at a large plain in order to discuss things, however they refuse to talk and instead just run wild separately and fight amongst themselves. After spending all day fighting and tiring themselves out, the Tauros fall asleep when night comes, a Tauros constellation appearing in the sky as the Legend of the Tauros is recounted. Long ago the Tauros gathered together to create the place the herd now sleeps at, however one of the Tauros worked themselves too hard and died. The herd mourns their death, only to see that they had become a constellation that would guard the Tauros. Back in the present day, a young Tauros wakes up and notices that the constellation is different - a large tear-shaped meteor falls from the constellation's eye and lands in the center of the discussion space. The Tauros talk things over for the first time in a long time, and agree they have to do something about the meteor - all coming together to push the meteor off a cliff and into the sea. That night the herd sleeps peacefully having reconnected, with the guardian Tauros constellation smiling once again.

Blurb

Charizard[sic] is a cross between a bull and a buffalo, but with three tails! In this latest Pokemon adventure, a pack of arguing Tauros must work together to counter a challenge from the star.
