Plot

It's Diglett's birthday, and all of its friends are visiting its underground den for the first time for the party. The den is incredibly dark, but Diglett proceeds to introduce their friends to their family and light the candles on the cake, finally allowing the other Pokémon to see. After Diglett blows out the candles on its cake, it is gifted a remote control airplane which, when flown, breaks through the den's roof and leaves a hole. Diglett's friends soon leave, the airplane having created a multitude of holes in the dirt, with Diglett telling them to come back any time.

• Like every Pokémon Tales book, this book features a hidden Pokémon for the reader to find- in this book, it's Gastly, who is hiding in one of the holes made by the airplane.
