Mudkip (Japanese: ミズゴロウ☆ Mizugorou ☆) is a Water-type Basic Pokémon card. It is part of the EX Team Rocket Returns expansion.

Trivia

Origin

Whirlpool is a move in the Pokémon games that Mudkip can learn. Spring Back's Japanese name is that of Payback, a move later introduced in Generation IV that Mudkip cannot learn.

Like with all Pokémon ☆ cards, this card is intended to represent the Shiny version of a Pokémon. However, in this particular instance, that trait does not seem to follow up entirely. While Shiny Mudkip are purplish colored, the one represented on the card has a blue hue on its skin that actually bears more resemblance to the species non Shiny variant. Curiously enough, the tail fin and lower body of the Pokémon are correctly colored after Mudkip's usual Shiny form.
