Kenichi Suzumura

Kenichi Suzumura (Japanese: 鈴村健一 Suzumura Ken'ichi) is a Japanese voice actor for Pokémon the Series.

Biography

Suzumura was born on September 12, 1974, in Niigata Prefecture, Japan, but was raised in Osaka Prefecture. He became a voice actor as an adult and eventually got a number of significant roles in Japanese anime series. Suzumura joined the animated series during Pokémon the Series: Gold and Silver, but got his most notable role in that work, Hoenn Champion Steven Stone, during Pokémon the Series: XY, replacing Rintarō Nishi. In addition to performing voice acting roles, Suzumura has also dubbed a multitude of roles in international films and shows, both live-action and animated. He was once affiliated with the talent agency Arts Vision, but he eventually left and founded his own agency, INTENTION, on May 8, 2009. He married a fellow voice actress, Maaya Sakamoto, on August 8, 2011. Suzumura and Sakamoto announced they were expecting their first child on December 27, 2021. Their first child was born on April 21, 2022.
