This card was included as a Regular card, a Full Art ultra rare card, and a special illustration rare card in the Black Bolt expansion, first released in the Japanese expansion with the same name. The Regular and Full Art ultra rare prints feature artwork by 5ban Graphics, while the Full Art illustration rare print features artwork by kantaro.

In Japan, the Regular print of this card is reprinted in the MEGA Dream ex subset and the Start Deck 100 Battle Collection.

Rulings

• Genesect ex's "Metallic Signal" Ability can not be used to search for Metal-type Mega Evolution Pokémon ex cards that are Basic Pokémon (eg. Mega Mawile ex). Although they are classified as "Mega Evolution Pokémon ex", as they are Basic Pokémon they are not considered "Evolution Pokémon".
