Release information

This card was released as a Cosmos Holofoil SWSH Black Star Promo and was available in the Fusion Strike Three Pack Blisters from November 12, 2021. In Japan, it was one of seven S-P Promotional cards available in Pokémon Card Gym Promo Card Pack 7, which was distributed at Pokémon Card Gym venues able to do so in September 2021. The Japanese print is Non Holofoil and features the Pokémon Card Gym logo.

Trivia

• This card is one of numerous cards to feature an illustration that is part of a narrative. Following on from the scene on the Eevee card, the Eevee appears to have evolved into an Espeon and the flowers surrounding the arbor have fully bloomed in the sunlight.
• Based on the release schedules of previous Pokémon Card Gym Promo Card Packs, it is likely the Japanese print of this card would have been available alongside the dual Silver Lance and Jet-Black Spirit expansion on April 23, 2021. However, due to the release proximity of the previous Promo Card Pack, which was also delayed due to COVID-19 restrictions, and the state of emergency that was subsequently imposed in some Japanese prefectures from April 29, it did not become available until July. This delay led to the first official release of this card appearing as a Traditional Chinese-language S-P Promotional card in May 2021.

Origin

Psy Bolt's Japanese name is that of Confusion, a move in the Pokémon games that Espeon can learn. Psychic is also a move in the Pokémon games that Espeon can learn. This card's Pokédex entry comes from Pokémon Shield.
