Deadly Poison, Danger! (Japanese: モウドクキケン MOUDOKU KIKEN) is a collection of merchandise launched by Pokémon Center Japan in February, 2024 that focuses on Poison-type Pokémon. It includes various stationery, clothing, and accessories, among other products featuring Vileplume, Gulpin, Mareanie, Toxel, and Clodsire.
Name
The name used for this line MOUDOKU KIKEN モウドクキケン uses katakana to create a homophone of the kanjis 猛毒 危険, a close translation of these would be "Deadly poison, danger" or "Highly poisonous and dangerous".
Background
On January 19, 2024, the collection was first presented on the official japanese Pokémon website, with an estimated release date of February 3 on the same year and online purchases starting on Thursday, February 1st, alongside pictures of the starting set of products.[1]
On October 11, 2024, a full "LINE" chat theme was released, including profile pictures, a new background and stickers of all the featured Pokémon.[2]
Products
The collection initially included the following items:
- Clodsire plush with it's spines out.
- Mareanie hair brush.
- A Toxel touch sensitive light.
- Tissue box holder in the shape of Vileplume.
- A clip holder Gulpin.
- An eco-friendly bag with Gulpin.
- Pecha Berry coin case.
- Hoodie, body bag and swaying glass with logos of the poison Pokémon.
- Travel kit with 4 bottles.
- 7 differents pairs of socks with designs of the featured Pokémon and one with Clodsire and Paldean Wooper.
- A notebook
- Stickers of the 5 featured Pokémon and the collection logo with Grafaiai.
- 2 long-sleeved shirts with Toxel and Clodsire designs.
- Keychains of all featured Pokémon.
Not pictured on the announcement but also released on February 3, 2024:
- 10 pairs of earrings, 2 per featured Pokémon, all including a Pecha Berry charm.
- Shoelaces, available on white or black.
- Silicone mold of Clodsire, with and without spines out.
On April 27, 2024, six new patterned umbrellas were added to the Pokémon Center site, including one with a Deadly Poison, Danger! pattern.
