Cinnabar City Bonfire (TCG)

Cinnabar City Bonfire is a type deck found in the Gym Challenge Strategy Guide. The deck is classified as one of the "hard-core" decks in the book, containing more rare cards than the easy-to-build decks.

Description

A Fire deck's worst nightmare is getting squelched by a bunch of Water Pokémon. Blaine's been working with Fire Pokémon for a long time, and he's managed to find a way around this problem. Cinnabar City Gym lets Pokémon with Blaine in their name ignore their Weakness to Water Pokémon. Almost all of Blaine's Pokémon are weak to Water, so this can really help a Blaine deck. Fire Pokémon don't have a problem hitting for a lot of damage, though. All of the Pokémon in the "Cinnabar City Bonfire" deck can do a lot of damage fast, so come out swinging.

Fervor and Blaine are good for getting Energy on your Pokémon fast, and Energy Retrieval lets you recycle some of the Energy that many of your Fire Pokémon must discard to use their attacks. Use Gust of Wind to finish off damaged Pokémon on your opponent's Bench. Finally, Computer Search helps make sure you get whatever card you're missing (say, Cinnabar City Gym or Blaine's Charmeleon) right when you need it.
