Pokémon Groupings

@Machampionship - This section seems to have got a little bit out of control. The point of a browsing portal isn't to show everything, as it is just a tool to help users find things they might be looking for without using search. I think we should try to limit this section to eight and include a "More »" link to the category instead.

I also think the example images for each grouping should show a varied selection, not just the first three, as that makes for a better representation of the article being linked to (the exception being First Partner Pokémon because of the first section of the page). The images should link to the article referenced, because they are providing examples of the article content, which is also how the other portals work. - Rustle (talk) 17:01, 19 December 2025 (UTC)

You're right, there might be a few groups in the browsing portal that don't need to be mentioned. That being said, I think it's better if the images of the Pokémon link to the Pokémon themselves rather than the group they belong to. There is already a link to the group above, so there's no need to insert multiple links through the images. Plus, it's possible that readers might not know the names of the Pokémon shown. I decided to include the first three examples of Pokémon from each group because I thought that it would be neat that way, but I won't mind too much if that's changed. I kinda think that groups that dont have an official name/are are a bit more subjective (from whats on the template im thinking convergent species and electric rodents) are better to leave off the template. Maybe artificial as well since thats a bit more abstract; that would keep the portal at a clean 3 rows; and a footer to a category would be the way to go I think. 4iamking 19:53, 20 December 2025 (UTC)
