And I'd appreciate it if you didn't blank my talk page. Ketsuban 21:24, 13 Jun 2005 (UTC)

About the Pokédex entries: I don't see how it's considered "flavor text." (Whatever that is anyway.) Flavor text sounds like frivilous stuff that doesn't matter, and this obviously does. I understand, though, what you mean about it not being data. My bad. How 'bout "Pokédex Entries?" (I put this on my talk page in response to what you said, but I want to get your OK before I go back and change the Pokémon pages. So I figured it'd be easiest for you to see it here.) --Doug teh H-Nut 7:57 PM EST Jul 16 2005

Sorry to butt in, but I have to agree about the connotations that go along with "flavor text." It does sound frivolous. Zhen, need I repeat what Damian and others have said about writing in ways that people can understand first and foremost? While "data" technically isn't the right word for non-statistical figures, I can guarantee that I and very many others would not have registered this if not for your explanation. The fact is, "data" is commonly used in the context of what you call "flavor text," and whether or not a standardist such as yourself agrees with it cannot deny that the evolution of the English language has broadened its meaning. If you don't want to use "data," fine (I'm a supporter in language), but please pick something less frivolous than "flavor text." --Argy 03:33, 17 Jul 2005 (UTC)

I have my own sticking points - data (especially the data/information distinction) is one of them, like Murgatroyd has with proof. Entry is fine - I personally prefer flavour text - because as far as I am concerned, it has all the characteristics of flavour text: short text, small insights into the character, and ultimately irrelevant in gameplay. If you must know where I first picked up this term, it was from Magic: The Gathering. - 振霖T 04:14, 17 Jul 2005 (UTC)

"Pokedex Entry." Can we agree?

Yes. Agreed. --Doug teh H-Nut 1:20 PM EST Jul 17 2005
