I think you deserve a more thorough explanation as to why I reverted your change to the Generation IV article. The indication of an imminent level increase is not so much an advance in gameplay as it is a nice touch meant to help players where help ''may'' be necessary.

This sort of touch is comparable to Generation II's PokéGear feature in which Bill called the player to alert him or her that the current box had been filled; that feature pointed the player in the "right" direction (if the player had not been aware of the situation, the next captured Pokémon would not have been able to be kept), but didn't serve a function in and of itself. Now, the ''real'' advance in gameplay was introduced in Generation III, where the boxes would be automatically switched in the aforementioned case.

I doubt there will ever be a game in which Pokémon will pop out of their PokéBalls upon approaching their next level, so in a sense what was introduced in Diamond and Pearl is the "final frontier". Nevertheless, it is not a notable progress in utility. --[[User:Unown Lord|Unown Lord]] 16:52, 16 December 2007 (UTC)

Shaking Poké Balls

I think you deserve a more thorough explanation as to why I reverted your change to the Generation IV article. The indication of an imminent level increase is not so much an advance in gameplay as it is a nice touch meant to help players where help may be necessary.

Now, the real advance in gameplay was introduced in Generation III, where the boxes would be automatically switched in the aforementioned case.

I doubt there will ever be a game in which Pokémon will pop out of their PokéBalls upon approaching their next level, so in a sense what was introduced in Diamond and Pearl is the "final frontier". Nevertheless, it is not a notable progress in utility. --Unown Lord 16:52, 16 December 2007 (UTC)
