Spanish translations

Hi, I'm Melkor and would be glad to help you guys on translating Bulbapedia to Spanish, since I'm a native speaker.

I don't really know how to do it, but I know Argy speaks a little Spanish (from the info here) and so I suppose I can say the incorrect things here so you can change them ^_^. Some corrections are just a matter of common usage and how it sounds to me. I cannot translate some things cuz I don't really know what they are or how they work (like Export Pages on Special Pages)

Navegation Menu Donations --> Donaciones

Toolbox What links here --> "Lo que enlaza aquí" is a little bit literally translated, I would say "Enlazado desde...", and anyway, we tend to use some English words when the Spanish ones sound too weird, we would rather say "link" than "enlazar". The same goes with "correo eléctrónico", we say "e-mail" ^_^ (in toolbox, too)

Special Pages "Categorías sin categorizar" --> Im not even sure if that verb does exist... anyway I would say "Categorías sin clasificar" or "Categorías desclasificadas". Generally repeating the same word twice in a row does not sound very well unless you're reading literature and want some particular sound or to say an ironic message. "Fuentes de libros" --> "Fuentes de libro" "Imágenes sin uso" --> "Imágenes en desuso" "Most linked to pages" --> "Páginas más visitadas" (if it is what I think it is) "Páginas de desambiguación" --> That sustantive sounds weird and if it exists it isn't widely used. I'm not completely sure about what I would say instead of that, though. Perhaps "Páginas de discernimiento", but that sustantive is a strange one, too ^_^U. "Páginas huérfanas" --> Sounds strange to me, but don't know what the page does. "System messages" --> "Mensajes del sistema" "Unused categories" --> "Categorías sin usar" "Version" --> "Versión"

Well, I hope it helps ^_^. If you want me to translate and/or correct something else just tell me what and will give my best to it. I hope it doesn't bother you, Argy ^_^U

PD: I hope I'm posting this correctly.

Uh, but MediaWiki already has a Spanish localisation. See here and here for large Spanish MediaWiki sites. If you'd like to report translation errors, see here. By the way, the names of the Special pages cannot be changed - though the titles can.
Anyway. The point of this 'language requests' section is for requesting Babel tags. - 振霖T 11:50, 15 October 2005 (CDT)
As Zhen said, your comments are not what "language requests" are for, but I do appreciate your offer. You'd be better off speaking with Archaic or evkl regarding your offer. --Argy 15:00, 15 October 2005 (CDT)
Oops, this happens when you talk about something you have no idea of xD (first time using a wiki, love being newb). Well, if there is something you want me to translate, just tell me and I'll do it. Delete all this if it bothers you. Sorry.

Language requests

Regarding your edit

Regarding: " PokéSupe (Japanese: ポケスペ PokéSupe)."

Should be: " PokéSupe (Japanese: ポケスペ PokeSupe)."

because the thingie in the parenthenses represents the Hepburn romanization system. And there are no accents whatsoever in Hepburn. And if you are going to say "Oh, but we always spell "Poke" with an accent", THAT'S what the thing to the left is for! WhisperToMe 17:27, 7 January 2006 (CST)
