Gorebyss is based quite clearly on the long-nosed chimera: pkmn-chimaera.jpg This is a well-known fish in Japan, and an inhabitant of the Deep Sea Abyss like Huntail (gulper eel). I'm amazed the name origin doesn't say anything about the abyss, either. Byss? Seriously? That's far too obscure even for Pokemon. Huntail and Gorebyss are both based on ABYSS dwelling fish. - unsigned comment from Scythemantis (talkcontribs)

I'll add it if there are no problems. Poisson14 21:03, 22 December 2009 (UTC)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/King_of_herrings This is the King of Herrings. Considerably more likely than any of the possibilities listed on the page.Bug Catcher Wade 00:29, 14 September 2010 (UTC)

Wade, the King of Herrings is already included on the page under the link for the oarfish. It links to the family under which the King of Herrings is classified. PhantomJunkie 00:47, 14 September 2010 (UTC)
