Welcome

Welcome to Bulbapedia, Hfc2x!

As a new user, you may wish to learn a few things that will be useful in your editing:

  • For a basic overview of wiki code, see this page.
  • The manual of style is very important. Make sure to read it. It outlines all official policies of Bulbapedia.
  • The word Pokémon is spelled with a capital P and an accented é. The P, of course, is accessed easily by holding Shift and pressing the P key, while the é can be accessed using Alt + 130 or Alt + 0233 on a Windows computer, and Option + e, then e again on a Mac. Otherwise, you can click it in the character palette below the editbox.
  • The word Poké Ball is spelled as two words. The "Poké" part is identical to the four beginning letters in "Pokémon"; "Ball" is spelled with a captial B (which is, again, accessed by holding Shift and pressing the B key). The spelling "Pokéball" arises frequently, but is incorrect.
  • The word "you" and all forms of it should not be used on encyclopedic pages unless it is a quote from Pokémon media. Bulbapedia is an encyclopedia, not a walkthrough.
  • On talk pages, please sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).
  • The use of link templates is official policy. For an explanation on their use, see the page on shortlinks.
  • If you happen to spot a vandal in the recent changes that has not been dealt with, please see this page for how to deal with it.
  • A list of pages that are linked to, but have not been created, can be found at this page. A list of short articles that may require more information can be found here, while a list of articles that need improvement can be found here.
  • A list of the admins that you can contact in case of a problem, can be found here.

Thank you, and have a good time editing here!TESHIGIGAS 20:26, 11 February 2008 (UTC)

Welcoming

Um, we're supposed to do that to new users. Btw, please don't remove that welcome as it may help in the futurePokeManiac102 06:03, 17 February 2008 (UTC)

Open Mouth Blastoise

Can u show me how Hydro Cannon comes out of the mouth? It makes more sense that it comes out of the cannons on its shell!--KukiTalk 22:55, 24 May 2008 (UTC)

Get a Blastoise in FireRed, teach it Hydro Cannon and then go to Cerulean Cave until you get to fight with a Ditto.
  • Let the Ditto transform into Blastoise.
  • Do whatever to not make the wild Ditto faint until it uses Hydro Cannon and voila.
I know it's weird, since it's name says "Hydro Cannon ", but there is no possible way to make a Blastoise sprite shoot from its Cannons. hfc2X 23:00, 24 May 2008 (UTC)

EV Reducing Berries

Can I ask how you calculated that certain berries take away 5 EV points in Emerald? Because I just tried it myself and think that it actually takes away 10 EV points. Here's how I did it, sorry that it's a little difficult to explain:

First, I got a newly hatched Wurmple and didn't battle with it at all. Then I went to Lilycove and bought 12 HP Ups and withdrew a Pomeg berry. (Decreases HP points.) I used 10 HP Ups on the Wurmple to get 100 HP points, which is the limit for a vitamin. (I tried an 11th just to make sure, but it didn't work.) Then I used the Pomeg berry to lower the HP points. If it lowers by 5, there would be 95 points, and if it lowers by 10, there would be 90. Because of the restrictions that vitamins have, they will only work when a Pokemon has 90 points or lower. Well, when I used my 11th HP Up, it worked. So the berry I used would have to have lowered the HP by at least 10 points. (No more than 19 though, because I tried using my 12th HP Up and it didn't work.) Correct me if I'm wrong on anything, or else it's possible that different berries decrease by different amounts. I hope this all makes sense (cause it took me a while to type). --EV Love 17:40, 2 July 2008 (UTC)

I'm not really sure of it, but the article says that EVs are reduced to 100 if the EVs are over 100. So I tried to reset the EVs for my Groudon (which I know it has 255 Attack EVs), and which acording to the article I had to use 11 Kelpsy berries to lower it to 0, but I ended up using 21 of them. Maybe it doesn't have a fixed value, I mean it may vary between the Pokémon or level. hfc2X 20:34, 2 July 2008 (UTC)
Vitamins work when a Pokémon has less than 100, though. Even up to 99. TTEchidna 22:41, 2 July 2008 (UTC)
Yeah I just discovered that while I was doing some tests. But the only conclusion I've come to is that it's possible that when you used you first berry, the points were dropped to 200, similar to how they drop to 100. Then you used 20 more berries, each decreasing it by 10. But I guess we'll never know unless someone finds a way to view EVs or find the answer in the games coding. --EV Love 03:12, 3 July 2008 (UTC)

Celebii

From what event is the Celebii from? And don't put your spam on some of the pages--CoolPikachu! 05:15, 3 July 2008 (UTC)

Well I doubt it was an official event (Nintendo surely doesn't know that my country exists)... it was just a guy that was giving some Pokémon away, but anyways I got it :D. it still looks official to me. These are the photos of my Celebi:
HCelebi1.jpg HCelebi2.jpg
It shows "Met in a fateful encounter" as you can see in the first photo. Well I didn't want to put spam in the page xD but I started that section to know if there was any other way than receiving it from Nintendo ('cause I've always wanted to get an event Pokémon). Anyways without glitches or cheating I got one so I'm happy, and I wanted to share it with you (at least to appear in your Pokédexes). hfc2X 21:14, 3 July 2008 (UTC)
It looks real and cool (but it's not real) but cool anyways--CoolPikachu! 21:32, 3 July 2008 (UTC)

Please

Slow down on editing the User: namespace. Editing your userpage too much will lead to it being locked again. Instead of making ten small edits, why not instead use the preview button (Alt + Shift + P) to check your edits before saving the page. Thank you. --ケンジガール 03:43, 29 July 2008 (UTC)

I do preview edits whenever I do them. And I already finished editing =D hfc2X 03:45, 29 July 2008 (UTC)
Do you think you could do the shiny and female Platinum sprites for Snorlax, Steelix, Machamp, Rapidash, and Giratina?--☆Tavisource 01:24, 28 August 2008 (UTC)
Oh, I didn't realize they existed xD well ok, I'll do them =) hfc2X 01:25, 28 August 2008 (UTC)

Evoboxes

Well, since we don't have a cycling gif of the RGBY, GSC, or RSFRLGE sprites... why ought we do that for Platinum's sprites vs DP? Just replace the ###.png file we have already with the 80x80 sprite from Platinum... or better yet, wait for Platinum to come out so that Zhen and the others can rip the sprites from the game and do a mass-upload with BulbaBot. TTEchidna 18:29, 28 August 2008 (UTC)

That is, provided BulbaBot's not trying to kill us whenever Girasol, Opal, or whatever the third to Diamond or Pearl's going to be whenever it comes out (face it, the odds of Platnium sticking is 0%). --Shiningpikablu252 18:32, 28 August 2008 (UTC)
I thought it was better to have a special evobox for Giratina and Shaymin, as they have different sprites in both games for their base form... check Platinum's page an see that Shaymin has a different sprite in Platinum. That GIF is only for the evobox, because there is no way to put it in the Sprite template. hfc2X 18:52, 28 August 2008 (UTC)
So does Bidoof... It's just the third version sprite difference like there always has been... TTEchidna 05:31, 29 August 2008 (UTC)
Anyway, I'm gonna need you to update Image:Spr 4p 487.png, Image:Spr 4p 487 s.png, Image:Spr 4p 492.png, and Image:Spr 4p 492 s.png with the Platinum sprites of their normal DP formes. The alt formes go to their own filenames...
And thus this is why we should have waited. PAK Man, you were right. We should have waited for more information before assuming that Giratina and Shaymin would alter formes like Deoxys did in Gen III. TTEchidna 06:40, 29 August 2008 (UTC)
