Gyarados

when I fishing with a good rod behing the fishing gurus brothers house I came across a Gyarodos which is not listed as possible on this page I don't know how to edit so can some one help me

Did this happen in FireRed or LeafGreen version? Because Gyarados is indeed listed under wild Pokémon for those games.--doctorlit 16:15, 18 October 2011 (UTC)
He/She said they found it with a Good Rod. As per page listings it can only be found with a Super Rod. I tried fishing with Good Rod a few times but didn't find any. It could be a 1% occurrence rate like the Psyduck/Slowpoke with Super Rod in so many routes but I haven't tried it enough times to confirm it. Ishu bagaria (talk) 15:58, 6 September 2015 (UTC)

Record-Breaking Magikarp

Even though Fishing Guru's Younger brother asks the player to show a Magikarp caught with "this rod", i.e. a Super Rod, he will reward the player for showing him any Magikarp, even one caught with an old/good rod. Further, he rewards the players based on the size of the Magikarp, in inches. When the player shows him a Magikarp for the first time, and whenever the player shows him a Magikarp which is "bigger" than the last, he will reward the player. It should be noted that the size of the Magikarp does not depend upon it's level. A level 5 Magikarp can be bigger in inches than a level 35 Magikarp.
FYI, if anyone wants to catch a Magikarp with a Super Rod just for the heck of it, or to scratch an itch, you can do that in Celadon City.

Tentacool appearing while surfing in Gen 4

Playing on Soulsilver here, and not only am I encountering Tentacool while surfing, but they are by far the most common. Since I started keeping track, the numbers I have are; 40 Tentacool, 17 Quagsire, & 7 Tentacruel. I notice this is essential on par with the 60/30/10 rate on route 13. It's especially disappointing as I came here specifically to train against the Tentacruel. Has anyone else encountered this? Napolarbear (talk) 22:47, 29 July 2016 (UTC)
