I've created a new template to replace the User Piplup one you created. Instead, I'd recommend you use this one: 393. That way, the template is available for everyone, and not those who just started with Piplup. I really liked your idea for a template, but if we had one for Piplup, we'd have to have one for the eleven other starters. I hope you understand. --PAK Man Talk 03:44, 13 August 2007 (UTC)

Second person

Don't use the second person pronouns like "you" and "your". It's bad style to talk to readers. TTEchidna 16:51, 16 August 2007 (UTC)

Which article did I do that in? --Shiny Noctowl 18:06, 16 August 2007 (UTC)

Battle CD, I think - Jonah 20:12, 16 August 2007 (UTC)

Okay. I usually manage to catch my second person writing. I'll be more careful in the future. --Shiny Noctowl 21:35, 16 August 2007 (UTC)

Candidates for speedy deletion

If a page is a candidate for speedy deletion, you shouldn't remove the tag declaring it such without good reason. The article in question, Hack, was declared because its entire premise was not notable. There was no reason to change the delete tag to a stub tag.

Additionally, stub tags go at the bottom of the page, not at the top. --Shiningpikablu252 18:31, 21 August 2007 (UTC)

What do you mean, "its entire premise was not notable"? --Shiny Noctowl 18:33, 21 August 2007 (UTC)
The article is basically about stuff that requires ROMs to do. ROMs are illegal, no matter what the ROM sites say (that so-called 24-hour rule is bull****). Making hacks requires use of ROMs. This makes the premise of hacks unfit to be considered notable on Bulbapedia. If we were to consider Hack notable, we'd also have to consider stuff such as AdvanceMap and Pokémon Quartz notable as well, and doing so would cause Bulbapedia to become a mess. --Shiningpikablu252 18:38, 21 August 2007 (UTC)

Why?

Why did you bring the fanfiction trash back to JailShipping article? --Maxim 15:19, 22 August 2007 (UTC)

I didn't realize until later that it was fanfiction. --Shiny Noctowl 16:14, 22 August 2007 (UTC)
No problem. --Maxim 16:30, 22 August 2007 (UTC)

Ragecandybar

Someone on Boon Island does mention Ragecandybars (although they add one unnecessary space--the person says "Rage Candybars"), but that mention is that the shop is sold out. Not only does the Ragecandybar not sold at the shop in FireRed and LeafGreen, it's not even programmed into any Generation III or Generation IV game. Trust me, I checked the shop, no Ragecandybar.

Granted, the shop does sell something crunchy, but that item's the Lava Cookie. --Shiningpikablu252 17:40, 25 August 2007 (UTC)

Oh yeah. I remember now. --Shiny Noctowl 17:42, 25 August 2007 (UTC)

Signature

Okay, to get one of those cool signatures like I have with the formatting and all, first you gotta go to "my preferences" in the upper-right corner of any page. The first tab is "User profile". Under "nickname" just put in the raw coding for what you want (I put in <span style="color:#FF0000;">T</span><span style="color:#FF0000;">T</span><span style="color:#FF0000;">E</span><span style="color:#0000FF;">chidna</span> for mine) and make sure that the box next to "Raw signatures (without automatic link)" is checked. Then, every time you put in four tildes, you'll get whatever you entered into that box, plus the date and time of the edit in which you added it.

All I gotta ask, though, is that you don't just use my signature with a tiny bit of alteration, making it look something like ShinyNoctowl. I like being the only one with the red/blue links. However, I can help you to design something. If you're interested, drop me a message on my talk page. TTEchidna 23:18, 25 August 2007 (UTC)

Shiny Noctowl -- this is Pinkachu's mom. Is there a constructive way you can talk to her rather than call a 10-year old an idiot? Why be a condescending jerk? If you want to be one and call kids names because they make a type-0 at least get your nomenclature right. Type's aren't legally classified by the FCC as spam. Get over it. Now, I'm not going to call you a complete embicile because you classify a type-o as spam, but you may want to do your homework also. If you want to continue to insult her, then take it up with me offline at [email protected] and we can take it to the FCC. DO NOT insult my child again - be constructive. Rthompson, Esq. Houston Texas

For some reason, the email address wouldn't work. Here is a copy of the message:

Dear Pinkachu's mom,
In response to your comment on this page (http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/User_talk:Shiny_Noctowl) regarding this page (http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Talk:Pinkachu), I would like to point out that by viewing the earliest revision history (http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/w/index.php?title=Talk:Pinkachu&diff=prev&oldid=175973), which is what the article was first composed of, and by clicking on the "ガール" at the end of the comment's signature, you can see that the offending comment ("You idiot! Tracey was the one with them. Not Brock!") was posted by Kenji-Girl, whose talk page is located here (http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/User_talk:Kenji-girl).

Sincerely, Shiny Noctowl

Pinkachu

Oh so now it's an offending comment. I didn't see you trying to defend that kid the first time. You could at least said that I was trying to keep out vandalism on our site. But no. Instead you were quick to point the finger at me and let her paint me out as some kind of jerk who picks on small children. It's not like I new this was a little kid. For all I knew it could of been a 30 year old man trying to be annoying. Was I wrong for using the word idiot, yes. But I was only angry because I'm annoyed when people make awful pages like that and don't bother to read the rules. Now I got this mom on my ass about it. Anyway, thanks a lot. --ケンジガール 02:48, 4 September 2007 (UTC)

Eh, the mom's just an internet tough guy, Kenji-girl. Also, Shiny Noctowl, it's best to simply tell the person straight out how the hell they broke the rules (although parents seem to have a way of missing the fact that their kids are sometimes the instigators). I think this is the first time we ever got a kid whining to their parent and their parent (who can't spell typo or imbecile) whining at our users. People need to grow a thicker skin, especially when they have a screen and probably hundreds of miles separating them. Plus they can't just go thinking "oh it was just her first mistake". That stuff got old a loooooooong time ago. It may be the first mistake she made, but it's far from the first we had to fix. TTEchidna 10:35, 4 September 2007 (UTC)

Flower Paradise in movie 11

I have noticed, rather tardly, that you ignored my revision to the Flower Paradise page and essentially reinserted the same paragraph. We at Bulbapedia expect intelligent editing to be met with some minimal respect; even if you strongly felt against removing your content, you should have explained your reasoning as I had explained my own. By not doing that you forced your own belief into a page that should represent facts or at least a consensus; what sort of gratification does that give you?

The flower field in the Regigigas movie teaser should support speculation that the featured Pokémon will be Shaymin, as opposed to Arceus. It so happens that this comes as no surprise with or without the teaser. Now, a precedent lies in no less than ten movies, that no matter how reminiscent a movie setting is of a game location, it is not supposed to represent said location. That is to say, movie 1's New Island is not Cinnabar Island (where Mewtwo was created in the games), movie 2's Shamouti Island is not Navel Rock or any other game island, movie 3's Unown ruins are not Ruins of Alph (which, in the anime, are home only to fossils), movie 4's Celebi forest is not Ilex Forest (also visited in the anime on another occasion), movie 5's Altomare City is not part of Southern Island, movie 7's Deoxys crash place is not Birth Island, and finally, movie 9's land and ocean settings are far remote from Summerland beach (I doubt that any of movies 6, 8 and 10 has even been seriously associated with a game location). What leads you to conclude that movie 11 and Flower Paradise are so inherently destined to intertwine that a sudden exception is in order? For the record, there is no guarantee that the final movie will even feature a setting of a similar nature to that shown in the teaser (movie 8's teaser showcased an island that, be it Faraway Island or not, was nowhere to be seen in the actual film).

If to be fair, it is possible that Flower Paradise is not bounded geographically to any one location, being conjured along with Seabreak Path by Shaymin wherever a special stone monument is found (and when someone has expressed gratitude). This is hinted by Professor Oak during the game event, alluding to a similar monument in Kanto. If the movie's plot were to include the conjuring of a flower garden in which Shaymin resided, then you would be able to properly link the movie setting to the game location as being a product of Shaymin's powers, but even then you would not be able to claim they are one and the same. --Unown Lord.

I meant that Shaymin will probably be involved, but you removed that too. --Shiny NoctowlTalk|Trivia quizFile:224MS.gif 20:57, 5 September 2007 (UTC)

Threatning e-mails

Again. Thanks a lot for ratting me out. That psyco mom is sending me threatning e-mails now and calling me names that I can't even mention. I hope your happy. --ケンジガール 05:28, 6 September 2007 (UTC)

I didn't mean for the message to her to sound how it did. And, to stop her emails, you can always set your email to block her address. I was getting threatening emails from her too. --Shiny NoctowlTalk|Trivia quizFile:224MS.gif 12:16, 6 September 2007 (UTC)

Section 6

The code for your signature is much more complex than it needs to be. Remove the surrounding table and you should be fine. - 振霖T 01:45, 8 September 2007 (UTC)

I have the table so that it links to the page on Octillery instead of to its image page. -Shiny NoctowlTalk|Trivia quiz

01:47, 8 September 2007 (UTC)

Well... there may be alternative methods. But the main problem is that tables are block elements, so they always cause line breaks. - 振霖T 01:55, 8 September 2007 (UTC)

As the founder of Bulbapedia I assure I do care very much about the image of Bulbapedia. But I also have to be concerned about the continued existence of Bulbapedia. Unless someone pledges to donate something on the order of $100 per month - which doesn't even cover half the hosting bill - funding is going to continue to be a major concern. - 振霖T 07:13, 10 September 2007 (UTC)

Your Team...

...Needs a Garchomp. It is a really overpowered Pokémon and has great stats. Just some advice. May I assume you know where to catch a Gible? -Politoed666 01:37, 11 September 2007 (UTC)

I know how to catch Gible, and I already have one that is evolved into a Gabite, but it takes forever to level up, and especially to such a high level. --Shiny NoctowlTalk | FunFile:224MS.gif 01:39, 11 September 2007 (UTC)
Yeah, I know it does. You know, if you've beaten the elite four you can go and fight your rival every day for a lot of experience. -Politoed666 01:46, 11 September 2007 (UTC)

Route 224 trainers

Hi! Thanks for improving my template. Now it looks really nice! However, I have a question: One of my contributions was Route 224 trainers section, done with all Pokemon and their levels. Now, levels are missing, and - in my opinion, they are.. um.. quite important, aren't they?

So, now it's my turn to improve your template: User:Piotr mil/TrainerPokémon

Ace Trainer Ruben

User:Piotr mil/TrainerPokémon User:Piotr mil/TrainerPokémon Winnings: File:Pokébuck sign.gif 3240

Looks better, doesn't it?

(one more question:when I type:

User:Piotr mil/TrainerPokémon|061|Poliwhirl|Water|||54|♂

the minisprite doesn't load, but when i add "gif", the sprite shows. My template HAS {} part, so I'm stuck, because I don't know where's the problem). Piotr mil 16:26, 11 September 2007 (UTC)

Animespecies template

Gary's Umbreon was an Eevee before. You have to include that. I think it'd be better just to not have the template, but eh, maybe it's just me. *shrug* TTEchidna 04:43, 13 September 2007 (UTC)

Section 7

Hi! This is Hieifireshadow, and I was wondering how you got those nifty little sidebar things on your user page. I really like them and I want to learn how to put them up. :D

~HFS

You mean the "About me" section? Well, to do that, type in <div class="userbox">. Then, type in the templates about you. For example, User Male, User Smart, and User Glasses. Then, type in </div>.
Here is what the example sidebar should look:
034.png This user identifies as male.
480.png This user is intelligent.
Max Glasses.png This user wears glasses.

And here is what the wikicode to make it was:
<div class="userbox">
User Male
User Smart
User Glasses </div>

There are lots of templates to chose from. You put the tags on by typing in The name of the template You can find the templates here. Some templates, such as User Favorite, require you to specify information, separated by |. For example, if your favorite Pokémon is Uxie, you would type 480 and get

480.png This user's favorite Pokémon is Uxie.

That's bad...you don't think it's the same guy, do you...? -Politoed666 21:02, 14 September 2007 (UTC)

Well i'm ready for him Bring it on!

I only hope there are some admins on right now...-Politoed666 21:07, 14 September 2007 (UTC)
I don't think so. I haven't seen any edits by admins for a while, and TTEchidna hasn't responded to my warning message on his talk page. --Shiny NoctowlTalk | FunFile:224MS.gif 21:08, 14 September 2007 (UTC)

I bet that he has a million windows open and he is going to save tem all at once --Theryguy512

Wow....you're really taking what i said about the million windows to the extreme. I was just joking when i said that P.S. Do ya think that we'll get admin rights for telling them?

Hey, again.

Well, I have another problem. I can't get the template "User Loves" or "User Region" to work on the sidebar type thing. The Absol thing only shows up when I copy and paste from the "User Loves" page. I took that code and filled it with Absol, but it's really big and at the bottom now. I think the easiest way to understand is to look at my user page. I'm going to be leaving soon (won't be back til tomorrow or so), so I might or might not be able to fix it as soon as a message is sent, but I will fix it eventually because I have a weird form of OCD. XD

Anyways, thanks for the help before (I have, like, 30 templates on there now)!

~HFS

Thanks!

Hey, I have everything fixed now. :D Thanks a lot!

~Taiya (HFS)

Sprite template

The "both" status is mostly just for Pokémon with gender differences, like Venusaur. Cleffa, however, is the same for both genders, so "none" would technically suffice...

I probably should've made it "difference" and "none", since that'd make more sense. Aren't I a blockhead? TTEchidna 22:19, 15 September 2007 (UTC)

Random Number

I'm afraid I know nothing about that...I'm sorry, buku. ;-; -Sketchies 19:17, 16 September 2007 (UTC)
