Suzie's Vulpix

So it's Sabrina's Haunter... since it was originally (and as Brock says, always) Suzie's... I'm moving it. TTEchidna 09:02, 9 October 2007 (UTC)

My main complaint is that a move on a complicated issue seems to be turning into mass moves for consistency. Having this under Brock's name is actually the same reasoning for Beedrill being under Casey's name in the first place: Vulpix spent the majority of its time on the show as Brock's. It was officially a member of Brock's team for 3 years (141 episodes) with Susie only turning up at the beginning and end. This is also a complicated issue, sure, but that's why we need to go on more than precedent for it. --FabuVinny T-C-S 10:14, 9 October 2007 (UTC)
No, just leave it as Brock's. Yes, he did say that it was always hers, but Susie, had she not appeared in Johto, would otherwise have been written off as a character of the day. If we move this article, then we have to move Jessie's Lickitung to Benny's Lickitung (which somebody actually tried to do), Ash's Primeape to Anthony's Primape, and so on. The move to Sabrina's Haunter I can understand, because it only appeared once and has never been alluded to again, and it wasn't even technically Ash's to begin with. But I am completely against this move, because as of now, this is a huge inconsistency. --PAK Man Talk 15:16, 9 October 2007 (UTC)

Why was it moved??????? I think that we should keep it as Susie's Vulpix ---File:Spr 3e 115.gifTheryguy512File:Spr 3e 202.gifFile:Spr 3e 327.gif 20:45, 9 October 2007 (UTC)

I believe it was moved back because Susie is more or less a character of the day who just happened to appear a second time. Brock is a more important character than her, and has appeared more often than she has. And although Brock said he felt it was hers all along, it was under his ownership for 141 episodes, whereas we have only seen Susie own it for two. Also, Bulbapedia does not name articles after characters of the day or minor characters. --PAK Man Talk 21:01, 9 October 2007 (UTC)

This should definently be Susie's Vulpix. The same as Sabrina's Haunter and Casey's Beedrill Also it ws not "caught" at Celadon city. (GT4GTR 06:44, 15 June 2008 (UTC))

I agree with that. Besides, Sabrina, if you really think about it, is ALSO a CotD (Gym leader or not, she still didn't appear over an episode at least, and as such technically counts as a CotD), and Haunter is listed as Sabrina's Haunter instead of Ash's Haunter. (we shouldn't revert Ash's Primeape to Anthony's Primeape, since it's still Ash's, albeit training under a different trainer, which is no different from what Charizard and Squirtle are currently doing.) - unsigned comment from Weedle Mchairybug (talkcontribs)
But Vulpix was with Brock way longer than Haunter was with Ash. Besides Sabrina is a gym leader so she has some importance. Suzy is a character who was in 2 episodes. Not that important if you ask me. On screen we saw Vulpix more with Brock than we did with Suzy, there for it should stay. That's why we don't call Jessie's Lickitung Benny's Lickitung. Think of better examples besides Sabrina's Haunter and Casey's Beedrill to support your arguement. A Pokémon that a character owned for 2 episodes or less is NOT the same as someone who owned a Pokémon for 100+ episodes. --ケンジガール 10:02, 16 July 2008 (UTC)

Suzy?

Shouldn't this be Suzy's Vulpix? Also Brock mentioned in Beauty and the Breeder that he always knew it never really was his Pokémon to begin with --Emeraldben 20:48, 3 August 2011 (UTC)

If you look above, this has been answered before. Suzy appeared twice, whilst Vulpix was in Brock's care across Kanto, Orange Islands and Johto. Suzy is not notable enough to warrant a page about her Pokémon - it'd be like calling Raticate St. Anne Gentleman's Raticate. Toon Ganondorf (t c) 23:53, 3 August 2011 (UTC)
  • Yes but if I cannot comment on them, Whats the point in reading them! and the gentlemen raticate is different it appeared for a quarter of an episode if that!Emeraldben 20:24, 4 August 2011 (UTC)
Brock still had it longer on screen... And he's a main character... --ケンジガール 21:22, 4 August 2011 (UTC)
This is not the same issue as Haunter. The wiki gives ownership to the person who has owned it longer or better known, but I and many other users don't believe ownership is clear cut at all regarding Haunter. Here the fact that Brock owned Vulpix for three seasons is enough to name the page after him, despite Suzy. Same with Jessie's Lickitung, James' Cacnea and Dawn's Ambipom. Toon Ganondorf (t c) 22:34, 30 November 2011 (UTC)
I believe that Meowth (Team Rocket) was going to be moved to Iris's Meowth if she was successful in capturing him in BW043, so I don't think the length of time a Pokemon spends with its trainer, ect. should matter. Another example is Ash's Cyndaquil, which despite being a Cyndaquil for a decade, was moved to Ash's Quilava when it evolved, because thats what it is now. The page names should reflect the Pokemon's current status, not their common name, even if they are with a COtD. Vuvuzela2010 Δ 23:14, 30 November 2011 (UTC)
Evolution is a very different thing. This is purely an ownership issue, you can't compare the two. There are no Pokémon that take on a minor character's name in their title, so Brock's Vulpix is consistent with those. Toon Ganondorf (t c) 00:31, 1 December 2011 (UTC)

The move

I oppose it greatly. Nobody considers this Suzy's Vulpix just like no one considers Ash's Larvitar "Larvitar (anime)". --ケンジガール 06:17, 1 December 2011 (UTC)

It was never actually Brock's Pokémon though. Suzy lent it to him. Also, Suzy currently owns it therefore I think it should Be Suzy's Vulpix, otherwise, the information given by the wiki is false. ☆The Solar Dragon☆ 07:51, 1 December 2011 (UTC)
