I have played most of the portable Pokémon games. My first one was Pokémon Red, and I chose Charmander as my starter. I eventually got ahold of the Blue and Yellow versions.
The Pokémon games are what started my interest in Pokémon. I concentrated mainly on the RPG style games, beginning with Pokémon Red on my Game Boy Pocket. Since then, I have gotten Pokémon Blue, Yellow, Gold, Silver, Crystal, Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald, Firered, Leafgreen, Diamond, and Pearl. Basically, I have played them all. I gave my Crystal, Sapphire, Emerald, and Leafgreen cartridges to a friend, and my Gold and Silver cartridges have dead cell batteries. Today, I am playing Pearl from the beginning, reserving my original Diamond for link battles.

Pokémon Gold was the game where I truly got into. I got it in 2002 and immediately started, choosing Cyandquil as my starter. That would be the first game where I would get a team to level 100, although I used two legendary Pokémon. I played that version until 2005, when I got Pokémon Firered. I did get ahold of Silver and Crystal, but I favored the newer generations after they were released.
For Red, I chose Charmander as my starter. I remember starting out, not knowing how to play the game. I put too much effort on Chairzard, not raising a balanced team. Plus, I had no clue on movesets. Now I learn from it. I remember liking Pokémon Yellow a bit more.

I originally didn't want to try Ruby and Sapphire, so I jumped to Firered while my cousin got Leafgreen. I once again chose Charizard as my starter, and I found Firered much harder, but more rewarding. After switching out my team, I raised my first non-legendary team to level 100: Tyranitar, Machamp, Alakazam, Lapras, Jolteon, and Arcanine. I still have these guys, now on my Diamond card. I did get ahold of Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald, using them for Pokémon Diamond.

Pokémon Diamond is the current game I play, along with the counterpart Pearl. I raised yet another team to level 100, although Dialga was on the team. I chose Empoleon as my starter, and I raised it to level 100, the first starter I did so with.

I have the Orange Islands, both parts of the Battle Frontier, and the first part of Diamond and Pearl on DVD. Since it moved to Cartoon Network, I can't watch it over broadcast.
