:Interesting, but that could be a coincidence.  I mean, people could think of El Tigre for all we know.  Not trying to be rude, I'm just saying that, while an interesting theory, unless there is official word on something like that, it is safer to just avoid pop culture characters references in the origin section or even in general, even though I think there are a few Tyranitar that still need cleaning up on that bit.  Probably best to focus on any information that we can confirm, if you ask me. ----<span style="color:blue">NateVirus</span><small>(<span style="color:green">Talk</span>|<span style="color:red">Contributions</span></small>) 17:06, 27 October 2016 (UTC)

Name Origin

Incineroar should be pretty obviously a portmanteau of incinerate and roar. ガオガエン, or Gaogaen, is probably from gao (to roar) and a corruption of kaen which means flame. --TheMaskedMeowth (talk) 15:04, 27 October 2016 (UTC)

Tiger Mask Origin

It may be inspired by the Tiger Mask manga and anime series. The main character was also (originally) a heel, is admired by a child and is heroic at heart. --Pdpd999 (talk) 16:27, 27 October 2016 (UTC)
