:I suspect that this was inspired by the Anime where it was common for Ash to get ground types wet for Pikachu to shock them (Brock's Onyx and Pryce's Piloswine) as well as the occasional 'insulated' Team Rocket robot that wound up getting dowsed with water in order for pikachu to shock them.  (Shivafang 01:35, 16 February 2012 (UTC))
:Seems so. Someone gotta check this out.

:: For what it's worth, Lightning Rod doesn't provide immunity, just causes the attack to be focused on them (therefore only applicable in double battles).  Mancetric still takes damage (Shivafang 01:35, 16 February 2012 (UTC))
::: Sorry, didn't realise this was changed in Gen V - I just looked at the ability page. (Shivafang 01:37, 16 February 2012 (UTC))

Wonder Guard?

Does this move hit Pokémon with Wonder Guard? And if so, does it mean that those Pokémon will only get hit by Electric and Grass moves? --RiverAura 01:59, 5 January 2011 (UTC)

Yeah, Wonder Guard doesn't protect against status type moves. And yes, Electric and Grass are the only ones super effective against Water. Could be a fun surprise. PLA 15:47, 9 January 2011 (UTC)

Variations

Anyone is there any variations of these?Grhaal 21:56, 15 February 2011 (UTC)

Better animation

This may be more of a preference thing, but wouldn't it be better to have an animation of Soak being used on something that's, you know, not already a Water-type? →ΑΧΧΟΝΝfire 20:27, 1 December 2011 (UTC)

Palpitoad's Water/Ground, making Soak still have its normal effect. The only thing it fails on is pure Water, so a different animation is pointless. - Blazios talk 20:31, 1 December 2011 (UTC)
