The Goldeen Scoop Master

Golden Scoop Master (Japanese: トサキント掬いの名人 Tosakinto-Scooping Master) is a character of the day that appeared in Historical Mystery Tour!. He is voiced by 小西克幸 Katsuyuki Konishi in Japanese and Dan Green in the English dub.

He has a high level of skill for the Goldeen scooping game, and demonstrates this at the game Team Rocket runs at the Twinleaf Festival. After scooping almost all of the Goldeen out of the tank, James challenges him to a face-off. The winner of the competition would get all of the Goldeen; due to James's extensive childhood training in the game, the Master is eventually defeated and forfeits his Goldeen.

The Goldeen Scoop Master is well-known for his Goldeen scooping prowess, as shown by the crowd's reaction when he and James had their scooping competition.

Trivia

  • Goldeen scooping is based on the real-world activity of goldfish scooping, which is common at traditional Japanese festivals.
