The '''Suicune Research''' event was held between September 2 and September 16, 2024 and featured the first appearance of {{p|Suicune}} in the game. This event also served as a successor to the [[Water Type Research]] event. This event was exclusive to [[Greengrass Isle]] and had one of Snorlax's favourite berry set to the [[Oran Berry]]. During this event, the start screen and the campsite were decorated with springs and more foliage due to purified water and north winds. The background music was changed to arrangements of the [[Ecruteak City]] and [[Eusine]] themes, composed and produced by Shoto Kageyama. This event brought the return of the Event Exchange that allowed players to exchange [[Suicune Mane]] for a variety of items including the newly released [[Suicune Biscuit]]s, [[Suicune Incense]] and [[Suicune Candy]].

====Increased encounter chance====
During this event, {{type|water}} Pokémon had a greater chance of being encountered. There were no boosted spawns at [[Taupe Hollow]] or [[Snowdrop Tundra]] as Suicune could not spawn in these areas. During the first week Suicune could only appear at [[Greengrass Isle]], however in week 2, it also appeared at [[Cyan Beach]] and [[Lapis Lakeside]].
