The '''comfort level''' <!--(Japanese: ''' ''' '' '')-->of a {{OBP|Pokémon|species}} is a mechanic in {{g|Pokopia}} that acts as a measure of how much that Pokémon likes its home. A Pokémon's comfort level raises when placing objects with characteristics that it likes within the area around its [[Habitat Dex|habitat]]. Removing objects a Pokémon likes, or adding objects with characteristics it does not like, may lower its comfort level. 

The higher the comfort levels of the Pokémon in a given area, the higher that area's [[Environment Level]] will be, as tracked in the [[PC]] at that area's [[Pokémon Center]]. Pressing the minus ('''-''') button while in the main menu of the PC will open the Environment Level screen. Listed here are the Pokémon present in the current area and their comfort levels, from highest to lowest: Awesome, Great, Nice, Average, and Iffy. Pokémon without a home are listed at the bottom under No home. Raising the comfort levels of Pokémon in an area will raise the Environment Level, while actions that result in Pokémon's comfort levels going down can cause the Environment Level to go down as well.

A Pokémon's comfort level can be increased by adjusting its home to match its ideal habitat and by adding its favorite things to the area around its home. Giving a Pokémon a food or drink item of the [[flavor]] it likes will also significantly increase its comfort. These preferences are listed in the [[Pokédex]].

Properties a Pokémon may look for in its environment include a certain level of brightness, temperature, or humidity. Certain objects in the environment may impact these environmental factors, such as by emitting or blocking out light or raising or decreasing the temperature or humidity. 

Objects also have hidden values that a Pokémon may like, such as "Lots of nature" or "Soft stuff". When an object with properties that the Pokémon likes is placed within the perimeter of its habitat, the Pokémon's comfort level will increase. The perimeter around a Pokémon's habitat can be checked by pressing down on the right control stick while standing nearby. 

Moving a Pokémon into a house will also raise its comfort level, and the larger the house, the more the comfort levels of the Pokémon living there will increase.

Clearing a path from a Pokémon's home to a [[Pokémon Center]] is another way to increase its comfort level. This is accomplished by ensuring there are few obstacles in the way of roads, including replacing or hydrating cracked ground, as well as by adding stairs to help Pokémon clear inclines. Keeping paths clear will also encourage a Pokémon to explore and travel farther from its home.

===Comfort level requests===
Talking to a Pokémon and selecting "How's your comfort level?" will prompt the Pokémon to share how comfortable it currently is and will show a thought bubble displaying a request for something that will raise that Pokémon's comfort level. A Pokémon may ask for a change in its environment, particular [[List of items by category in Pokémon Pokopia|items]] in categories such as Relaxation or Toys, or food. One request can be completed for a given Pokémon per day.

Requests for a change in the environment such as Brighter/Darker, Warmer/Colder, or More humid/Less humid require a specific net change in brightness, temperature, or humidity to satisfy the request. For example, placing an object that emits light may generate a positive reaction from a Pokémon wanting its environment to be brighter, but multiple light sources may be necessary to satisfy the request and raise the Pokémon's comfort levels.

When requesting an item, the Pokémon may desire a general category of item, like Toys, or a specific kind of item within that category, such as Toys (Soft stuff), corresponding to one of the types of things that Pokémon likes. For the latter, while giving an item in that category with the listed property will complete the request, an item with any of the characteristics of that Pokémon's favorite things will also count. Additionally, larger Pokémon requesting a Relaxation item require bigger furniture items.

A general request for food can be satisfied by any food item, such as a [[Flora of the Pokémon world#Pokémon Pokopia|vegetable]], [[Berry]], [[drink]], or [[Cooking (Pokopia)|meal]]. These can be given to the Pokémon directly, or placed on a plate in the area around its habitat, in which the request will be fulfilled once the food is eaten. A Pokémon may also request food of a specific flavor, such as Food (Sour flavors), corresponding to that Pokémon's preference.
