Should update balance changes to Pokémon be included in their Unite pages?

--CuteShaymin (talk) 07:46, 20 May 2024 (UTC)

This was brought up in the project-sidegames discord a few days ago, and I think that such sections would absolutely be useful! That time, the discussion did not go any further because the editors interested in Unite were busy with other stuff at the time (such as most move data incomplete on Unite pages), but if you have any ideas for how the pokemon stat changes etc could be added to the pages, I'd be happy to help as much as I can. The Spanish WikiDex also has "changelog" sections for Unite Pokemon, using Decidueye (Pokémon UNITE) → Historial de ajustes as an example.
Regarding your edit to the Decidueye page, I personally think that the date should be the first column and changes should be the second, though I'm open to other ideas. And we should probably match the table style and colours to the other ones on the page... → PikaTepig999 17:13, 20 May 2024 (UTC)

Do licenses have roles, or is it the Pokémon?

Messing with this (code for, lots of text) but... which thing has the role? I'm fairly certain role is technically a property of the Pokémon, and not of the license. "A Mewtwo that can Mega Evolve into Mega Mewtwo X debuted on Aeos Island as a Melee All-Rounder." [1] Which then raises the problem of "well, where do you put role then?" To which I might say it merits its own page in the same way Nature does. Any ideas? Salmancer (talk) 20:20, 31 May 2024 (UTC)

I think it's Pokemon, not Unite Licenses, that have roles. I have a second quote, perhaps more reputable than the first. From the press release
"Find Your Role - Many different Pokémon, such as Charizard, Pikachu, and Greninja, appear in Pokémon UNITE. Although type strengths and weaknesses do not exist in Unite Battles, each Pokémon has its own unique stats and role—Attacker, Defender, Speedster, Supporter, or All-Rounder—that reflects its play style."
I think a split is in order. Unless stats are actually a property of these licenses, which does not make sense Salmancer (talk) 00:34, 6 June 2024 (UTC)
