By creating your account you are now able to edit pages, join discussions, and expand the community-driven Pokémon encyclopedia. Before you jump in, here are some ground rules:

  • Be nice to everyone. It's in the code of conduct.
  • Make good edits. Preview them before you save to make sure they're perfect the first time around.
  • Use wikicode and link templates when adding content to a page.
  • Use proper grammar and spelling, and read the manual of style.
  • You can't create a userpage until you've added to the encyclopedia. It's a privilege. See the userspace policy.
  • Use talk pages to resolve editing disputes. Don't "edit war," or constantly re-edit/undo the same thing on a page.
  • If you have a question about something, be proactive. Take a look at our FAQ. If you're still stuck, ask for help. The staff won't bite.
  • Sign all talk page posts with four tildes (~~~~). This will turn into your name and the time you wrote the comment.
  • For more handy links, see the welcome portal.
Thank you, and have a good time editing here!

Lithuanian Charmander name

I'm very keen on knowing how you know that Charmander in Lithuanian (I assume lt is Lithuanian, if it isn't, please forgive and correct) is Žavingasis. Could you please tell me? --Raltseye 14:42, 28 May 2016 (UTC)

Around over decade ago one of Lithuania channels showed us first 6 seasons of Pokémon Anime and it was translated from English to Lithuanian. Actually at around 11 years ago I hooked on Pokémon. - unsigned comment from SViper (talkcontribs)
Can you remember which one, or the dates it aired? Also don't forget to sign your comments with four tildes (~) and to indent. --Raltseye 15:48, 28 May 2016 (UTC)
Just surfed on internet minutes ago before you messaged me and found the date of when series started, it's 2005-12-24 14:55 UTC +2. Actually there was first 6 movies translated/dubbed professionally as well, but dates when they showed are forgotten, but names of them in Lithuanian still lives. By first 6 Seasons I mean from EP001 to AG040. BTW what you mean by "sign your comments with four tildes (~) and to indent"? How can I ask for page request? User talk:SViper
Okay thanks. By signing your messages I mean to add four tildes at the end of your message (~) so that it ends up like ~~~~ so that your message have the right timestamp, and by to indent I mean what you just did, add one more semicolon then the previous message at the beginning of your message. By the way what did you mean by ask for page request? --Raltseye 16:42, 28 May 2016 (UTC)
Thanks for explaining this, because I never able figure out how wiki messaging working. I mean Pokémon in Lithuania page not yet exist and only personal members can create this one, but I already created talk:Pokémon in Lithuania page, so now I need wait for someone from personal sees that. SViper (talk) 16:53, 28 May 2016 (UTC)
You can't create that page because you're not auto confirmed yet, you become auto confirmed when you have done a certain mount of edits. By the way I created that page for you. Could you add which company that aired the episodes maybe? --Raltseye 17:01, 28 May 2016 (UTC)
Thank you so much for information and creating page for me. I believe Lithuania's channel BTV it self, but after so many years passed we no more sure of it. SViper (talk) 17:12, 28 May 2016 (UTC)
You're welcome, do you know what the first episode was called? Or rather is there any way of knowing what all the episodes where called? Were they ever released on VHS, DVD? Oh and by the way, do please make use of the preview button right next to the save page button in order to not clog up the recent changes. --Raltseye 17:18, 28 May 2016 (UTC)
No, because it was never released outside TV and at those old times no one recorded those series as well, only 4-6th Movies was only recorded when aired on TV. Roger that. SViper (talk) 17:33, 28 May 2016 (UTC)

Lithuanian name

Hello, for future reference could you please write Translation of English name instead of Translation from English name which is grammatically incorrect. Thank you. --Raltseye prata med mej 20:03, 29 July 2016 (UTC)

Edit: could you please add which exact words the names come from rather than just Translation as that can be a little fuzzy. In short, add which words the name comes from if the name is different than the English and say that it is a "Transcription of English name" if it derives from the English name. --Raltseye prata med mej 23:33, 29 July 2016 (UTC)
Also, I'm currently compiling a list of Lithuanian Pokémon names here User:Raltseye/List of Lithuanian Pokémon names would you be interested in helping out? --Raltseye prata med mej 08:08, 30 July 2016 (UTC)
So for names that are in English and Japanese same like Pikachu you need use Transcription instead of English? Sure, I will help with it as well. BTW some names may be not remembered correctly, so in future some of them will be fixed. Now we post names as mush as we remember or even translated new ones by us.SViper (talk) 09:55, 30 July 2016 (UTC)
First of all please do not add fan translations. Secondly I'm sorry but I must be very groggy in the membrain because what I meant to say is not transcription but rather From English name simply. Sorry. In a nut shell now, when the name is the exact same there's really no need to add one at all, but why not? if the name derives from the English name Like Bulbasaur Balbazauras add From English name when the Lithuanian name is translated into something different like Wartortle Karvėžlys you add which words the Lithuanian name comes from like we do on all the german names for instance. I think that was all, sorry for being indecisive and changing my mind all the time but I think I've got it all sorted out now. Thank you for your patience once again. --Raltseye prata med mej 10:44, 30 July 2016 (UTC)
Roger that about those names that didn't showed up in TV. In Bulbasaur case it was Lithuanianized from English name. And for Wartortle it was used same English words and they combination in Lithuanian. In both case was translated from English names and nothing more.SViper (talk) 07:44, 31 July 2016 (UTC)
