By creating your account you are now able to edit pages, join discussions, and expand the community-driven Pokémon encyclopedia. Before you jump in, here are some ground rules:

  • Be nice to everyone. It's in the code of conduct.
  • Make good edits. Preview them before you save to make sure they're perfect the first time around.
  • Use wikicode and link templates when adding content to a page.
  • Use proper grammar and spelling, and read the manual of style.
  • You can't create a userpage until you've added to the encyclopedia. It's a privilege. See the userspace policy.
  • Use talk pages to resolve editing disputes. Don't "edit war," or constantly re-edit/undo the same thing on a page.
  • If you have a question about something, be proactive. Take a look at our FAQ. If you're still stuck, ask for help. The staff won't bite.
  • Sign all talk page posts with four tildes (~~~~). This will turn into your name and the time you wrote the comment.
  • For more handy links, see the welcome portal.
Thank you, and have a good time editing here!

Linking to pages

Please, when linking to a Pokemon's article, that you use link templates. For example, use {{p|Staraptor}} instead of [[Staraptor]]. Ataro (talk) 22:39, 28 February 2017 (UTC)

In anticipation of a question about this, I'll go ahead and link you to Category:Link templates. --Felthry (talk) 22:41, 28 February 2017 (UTC)

Excessive Linking

Please don't link every instance of a word or Pokémon. As a general rule of thumb, if it has already been linked once in a section; it doesn't not need to be linked again. Thank you.--ForceFire 15:32, 2 March 2017 (UTC)

Edit warring

I'm gonna leave this here instead of adding it to our current discussion.

Please be aware that continually redoing an edit of yours that is undone is called edit warring and can result in a block. If there's a conflict, discussion is the proper solution.

Additionally, if a staff member tells you something, it's generally advisable to follow their directions. You can discuss it and appeal it up the staff ranks if you feel you need to eventually, but just ignoring directions is not appreciated. If you didn't realize I'm part of the staff, then I'll inform you now that the Poke Ball icon by my name (or any user's name) indicates this. One way or another you should at least have seen this when you went to undo my edits, so in the future, please keep this in mind.

Thanks. Tiddlywinks (talk) 22:54, 2 March 2017 (UTC)

If you're a staff member, then maybe you could answer my question about Spring Path that I left on your talk page. --RedHailfire (talk) 22:58, 2 March 2017 (UTC)
...Please give me time. There are a number of claims on my attention. (Which, frankly, would have been a bit lighter if you hadn't jumped to reverting to your edits. Just have a bit of patience please.) Tiddlywinks (talk) 23:02, 2 March 2017 (UTC)
I reverted my edits back for a good reason. These areas are considered routes, therefore deserving of route infoboxes. Also, it really isn't that hard for you to undo my edits, so it's not like it's some kind of tough job for you to do. --RedHailfire (talk) 23:07, 2 March 2017 (UTC)
The main thing, like I said, is that you ignored directions from a staff member when you redid your edits. Even if you have perfect reasoning, if a staff member has told you directly not to do something, that does not make it okay for you to flout staff authority. If you're so right, discussion will work fine, and waiting won't kill you anyway. Tiddlywinks (talk) 23:16, 2 March 2017 (UTC)
Alright, I will wait for now. You never once directly told me not to change the infoboxes; you asked me to trust you on your opinion that lakefronts aren't routes. So, according to your own words, I never was "told directly" to keep the infoboxes the way you made them. --RedHailfire (talk) 23:23, 2 March 2017 (UTC)
If you're quibbling like that, then you understand well enough what I mean. Please don't make the mistake of thinking that such rules lawyering will win an argument in the future. Tiddlywinks (talk) 23:30, 2 March 2017 (UTC)
I was pointing out the fact that you keep talking about "directions" that you gave me, when in reality, you never gave me any directions regarding the infoboxes. --RedHailfire (talk) 23:37, 2 March 2017 (UTC)
I tried to couch it nicely. I didn't want to come down hard on a new user/newly asked topic. Let me put it this way: if you're going to start discussion, try to finish it and leave alone whatever you're trying to resolve in the meantime. That should be the purpose of discussion: resolving a matter without edit warring. Tiddlywinks (talk) 23:54, 2 March 2017 (UTC)
I understand what you're saying, I just wanted to make a point. --RedHailfire (talk) 23:57, 2 March 2017 (UTC)

Preview button

Please use the preview button and read your edits through before saving the page. There's no reason to be altering a talk page message five times in under three minutes. glikglak 01:03, 3 March 2017 (UTC)

Talk Page Comments

Removing talk page comments, including the initial welcome template, is prohibited per Bulbapedia's talk page policy. Please do not remove any comments in the future. If you wish to clean old comments away, you should archive your talk page instead. Thank you! --Tiddlywinks (talk) 19:01, 9 March 2017 (UTC)

Userspace limits

Hello. I have noticed that you have been editing the User: namespace a lot recently, and have made a total of 2 userspace edits today. Please do not edit the userspace any more, as the userspace policy limits the amount you can edit your userpage: No more than three edits per day (by UTC), and you must contribute to the mainspace more than you edit your user page(s). This policy was instated to promote people helping out in the mainspace, and also to control strain on our servers. Bulbapedia is an encyclopedia, after all, so help us out by contributing to some articles before coming back to your personal page(s). The more often you edit in the mainspace, the more you will be allowed to edit your user page(s). Thank you. --Tiddlywinks (talk) 05:24, 13 March 2017 (UTC)

Yep, thanks for the warning. I was just having a little fun with the userpage. --RedHailfire (talk) 14:42, 13 March 2017 (UTC)

A plethora of things

  1. In the context of FireRed and LeafGreen, we will refer to Green as Leaf. Not Green.
  2. Please don't change around Green's article to remove references to Leaf, staff has decided to put both of them there.
  3. Do not edit war. If you disagree with an edit, go to the talk page of the problem article. Don't go running for that undo button.
  4. Please don't remove large amount of information from Pokémon articles, like how you removed the GO stuff from Staraptor's page, it is non constructive and can be seen as vandalism.
  5. I'm not too sure of the Heatmor, Greninja, and Staraptor appearances as I don't remember the episode too well. But photos are only notable is it is an actual photo of a live Pokémon, not a drawing or painting.--ForceFire 05:40, 5 March 2019 (UTC)
