Tobias's Latios (Japanese: タクトのラティオス Takuto's Latios) is the second Pokémon that Tobias was shown to have.
History
Latios made his debut in The Semi-Final Frontier!, where he was used as Tobias's second Pokémon against Ash and his Sceptile in the Lily of the Valley Conference semifinals. Latios makes a single Giga Impact that collides with Sceptile's Leaf Blade and knocks it out. His next opponent is Ash's Swellow, who tries to hit him with a Quick Attack, only for the Eon Pokémon to dodge it. He then simultaneously counters Swellow's Aerial Ace attack and defeats it with one shot of Luster Purge.
His final opponent is Ash's Pikachu, who grazes Latios with a Quick Attack and follows up with a Volt Tackle, only to get overpowered by Latios using Giga Impact. Latios overpowers Pikachu's Iron Tail with yet another Giga Impact. After Pikachu dodges Latios's Luster Purge, he jumps onto the Eon Pokémon's back and proceeds to fire multiple Thunderbolts that Latios endures with the help of Light Screen. Latios then flings Pikachu into the air and prepares to fire one last Luster Purge, but not before Pikachu counters with a combination of Volt Tackle and Iron Tail, creating a gigantic explosion that knocks all of the monitors out. When the smoke clears, both Pokémon are left unconscious, resulting in a draw; however, because Tobias had four Pokémon left while Ash was left with none, Tobias was declared the winner of the match.
Personality and characteristics
As expected of a Legendary Pokémon, Latios is shown to be incredibly strong, as shown when he defeated Ash's Sceptile and Swellow with one hit each and endured multiple attacks from Ash's Pikachu, even managing to take the latter to a draw. Like others of his kind, Latios is also shown to be very fast, easily outspeeding Swellow in their match.
