Raichu's Gender

Is Visquez's Raichu really male? Tierno's Raichu was female despite having the male gender difference. --PKMNAdventurer (talk) 18:44, 22 March 2020 (UTC)

Removed. Gender should not be assumed, regardless of its gender difference (as Raichu's female variant has not yet appeared in the anime, despite a female Raichu having appeared in the anime post Gen IV).--ForceFire 05:06, 23 March 2020 (UTC)
Now that we have seen the female variant from today's episode, should this be looked at again? The anime gender policy subsection of the speculation policy did say we can make inference for pre-Gen IV species on gender differences if both of them have appeared. Any individual Raichu that has appeared past DP001 can be referred to as male now, yes. Any Raichu before that episode is still "unknown" until they appear again. Tierno's Raichu... is an odd case, probably can be explained as an error.--ForceFire 17:16, 30 August 2020 (UTC)
What? But Ash's Heracross also did appeared after DP001, in Sinnoh League. How is that different?--Rocket Grunt 18:00, 30 August 2020 (UTC)
Ash's Heracross was introduced before gender differences were introduces. Just appearing in Generation IV or later isn't enough. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 18:05, 30 August 2020 (UTC)
Personally, I think it's the kind of thing that animators only remember when it exists at one time or another. I don't think they always make sure of that.Tierno's Raichu is the best example of this.
It is the same chronology of a TV series, fans make a thousand theories, while producers and writers are not as careful. Game of Thrones say it.Hikaru WazanaUser talk:Hikaru Wazana 18:08, 30 August 2020 (UTC)
The female Heracross variant hadn't appeared yet at the time of the Sinnoh League. In other words, Heracross has to appear again as it would appear after the anime has acknowledged the female form.--ForceFire 18:26, 30 August 2020 (UTC)
Then it should be "Any individual Raichu that has debuted past DP001 can be referred to as male now"?--Rocket Grunt 18:44, 30 August 2020 (UTC)
